Character Counts, But So Do Results
I do not make it a practice to comment on the work of fellow columnists, though occasionally some care to comment on mine, which is fine. I'm happy to help them make a living. An exception will be made here because of New York Times "conservative" columnist, Bret Stephens.
Yahoo! Ridicules Trump for Tweet on Soldier's Widow, NFL
The social media skirmish between President Trump and defenders of NFL protests is back on, and Yahoo! Sports rushed headlong into the fray today to denounce the commander in chief for opposing those pro football players who take a knee during the national anthem.
Joe Scarborough Wonders If President Is Illiterate: ‘Can’ Trump Read?
In the wake of the immense political conflagration that Michael Wolff’s upcoming book Fire and Fury has caused, Thursday’s Morning Joe was almost entirely consumed by discussion of all its salacious claims and their implications for the Trump White House. Even though multiple guest panelists on the show admitted to the shaky factual foundation for Wolff’s book and the unproven nature of many of…
MSNBC: ‘Narrative’ of Unverified Trump Book ‘Has Already Taken Hold'
At the top of her show on Thursday, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell was giddy as she declared that Michael Wolff’s salacious and unverified tell-all book about the Trump administration must have the White House “completely rattled.” Even as she admitted that all the details may not be true: “It’s hard to know what is actually fact and what isn’t, a lot is in quotations.”
Death No Escape from NYT Bias: Castro Treated Better Than Mormon Head
More proof that the New York Times’ political bias extends into death. The latest hostile treatment of a figure who ran afoul of the liberal line on social issues appeared Thursday, in an obituary of the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon church). Thomas Monson received less sympathetic treatment than did ruthless longtime Communist dictator, Fidel Castro.

CNN Promotes Partisan ‘American Women’ While Iran Protests Are Ignored
Timing is everything, and if you’re going to argue that American women are oppressed by the current administration, the patriarchy, the wage gap, or ponying up for their own birth control, try not to do it while women are very publicly facing actual oppression of the jailing-beating-shooting variety.
Katy Tur: ‘Remarkable That We’re’ Discussing Trump’s ‘Mental State'
Though MSNBC journalists have admitted that much of a new anti-Donald Trump book may not be true, it’s still enough to spark a new conversation over whether the President is mentally ill. On Thursday, Katy Tur pivoted from the book to the crazy Trump theme: “Isn't it remarkable that we're talking about the President's mental state and asking honest questions about his mental state? You also have…
We Have Lost a Friend
WASHINGTON -- My friend and colleague Donald Rieck, president of The American Spectator Foundation, died late last week in an automobile accident. He leaves two charming and very young children. He also leaves many friends throughout the conservative movement and shocked colleagues at The American Spectator. He was 50 years old.
Dangers of Government Control
We are a nation of 325 million people. We have a bit of control over the behavior of our 535 elected representatives in Congress, the president and the vice president. But there are seven unelected people who have life-and-death control over our economy and hence our lives -- the seven governors of the Federal Reserve Board. The Federal Reserve Board controls our money supply. Its governors are…
MSNBC: Even If ‘Not All’ of Trump Book Is True, ‘Spirit Is’ Accurate
Close enough. That’s the assessment from MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle in regard to the new book featuring incendiary quotes from ex-White House official Steve Bannon. Ruhle, like other liberal journalists, suddenly is fascinated with Bannon. She enthused on Thursday, “He was one of the most senior people in the White House, a close adviser to the President, and this book takes us inside.”
WashPost Media Reporter: Trump-Book Author Accused of Inventing Quotes
On the front of Thursday's Style section, Washington Post media reporter Paul Farhi wrote a piece on blazing-hot author Michael Wolff and his Trump book Fire and Fury. The headline was "A whale of a Trump tale, but is it fishy?" Inside, the headline is "Wolff made up quotes, some of his sources say."
NBC: New ‘Post’ Movie ‘Very Timely’ With ‘Our Press Under Siege’
In a fawning interview with the stars of The Post, on Thursday’s NBC Today, co-anchor Savannah Guthrie gushed over Hollywood’s latest love letter to the liberal media: “The movie is getting great reviews. And for something that took place 45 years ago, it feels like it could have been ripped right out of a newspaper today. Very timely.”
The Nation: Without Kaepernick, Local Economies Were Gutted
None of the NFL's communities have applied for federal disaster funding yet, but progressive lion Dave Zirin, sports editor for The Nation, claims the refusal to sign Colin Kaepernick to a pro football contract has brought these cities to economic ruin. He blames Kaepernick's lost season on right-wing, billionaire team owners who bank-rolled Donald Trump into the Oval Office.
