On Sunday evening, the NBC Nightly News ran a full report hyping a couple of cases in which pharmacists refused to fill a prescription -- one for an abortion and one for transgender hormone treatment. Host Kate Snow and correspondent Blake McCoy ended up fretting that "social conservatives" had pushed to expand state laws that allow pharmacists to refuse certain sales for reasons of morality.
The June jobs report was more good news for American job seekers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced July 6, that 213,000 new jobs were added in June.
That was more than economists expected. The prior two months were also revised up, adding another 37,000 jobs.
Between Thursday evening and Friday morning, most of the networks ran at least one report on a mother in Dallas who shot a carjacker as he tried to steal her car while her two young children were still inside. But the far-left MSNBC has been true to form in not making any room during its 24 hour a day airtime to give any attention to this story of a woman using a gun to defend her children which even CNN made room for a few times. CBS also has not given any attention to the story so far.
A 10-year-old boy dresses in drag and walks down a runway while adults watch. You would think that this was a headline for a story about child abuse. Instead the media uses a confused little boy to help push an agenda.
During Monday morning’s edition of NBC’s Megyn Kelly Today program, the host led an extensive discussion regarding the charges of sexual harassment against Tom Brokaw and had some words of advice for the many women who have signed a letter supporting the former NBC Nightly News anchor. Referring to her experience with the late Roger Ailes, who was the chief executive officer for Fox News until he stepped down amid allegations of sexual misconduct in July of 2016, Kelly cautioned the NBC News colleagues who signed the letter: “You don’t know what you don’t know.”
In a statement to The Washington Post on Thursday, disgraced former Today show anchor Matt Lauer bitterly went after his sexual harassment accusers, dismissing the “many false stories” about his behavior “from anonymous or biased sources.” The comments came amid a lengthy Post report on NBC’s poor handling of such allegations, which also detailed new accusations of harassment against former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw.
To the left, climate change is no longer a partisan issue; it’s merely a question of believers versus heretics. Perhaps that is why NBC felt justified in airing a Sunday Nightly News segment bursting at the seams with praise for liberal Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (RI), whom NBC chief climate change correspondent Anne Thompson lauded as “part teacher, part Don Quixote.”
The liberal media were jubilant when news broke Wednesday morning that Dick’s Sporting Goods planned to stop selling AR-15’s at all their stores and would impose age restrictions on those looking to purchase a weapon. But what they were championing as growing momentum for their gun control cause may just be a case of political opportunism because Dick’s made the same announcement in 2012 after Sandy Hook, but neither ABC nor NBC cared to mention that key tidbit that evening.
On Monday, ABC’s Good Morning America was the only network morning show to refuse to cover Monica Lewinsky accusing former President Bill Clinton of a “gross abuse of power” for having an affair with her when she was a White House intern. Perhaps the glaring omission had something to do with anchor George Stephanopoulos being a former Clinton operative.
On Sunday evening, the NBC Nightly News was the only network evening newscast to run a full report on the anti-government demonstrations in Iran. But, on the down side, the report dismissed President Donald Trump's words of support for protesters as not helpful, and did little to counter the authoritarian regime's propaganda.
After the media were initially slow to give attention to anti-government protests in Iran that have been running for three days, on Saturday evening the NBC Nightly News led with the story and put its competitors on ABC and CBS to shame as ABC's World News Tonight only gave the story 21 seconds, and the CBS Weekend News ignored the story completely. CBS did, however, find time to air its third full report in three consecutive days devoted to fretting over the possibility that private charities will suffer as a result of the Republican tax cut plan.
On Sunday's NBC Nightly News, on display was the latest example of liberal journalists conspicuously ignoring accusations of sexual assault against President Bill Clinton even while going all the way back 26 years to include sexual harassment charges against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
