While Hurricane Dorian was headed for Florida and possibly the rest of the East Coast, some liberal media types have nonetheless used the bad weather as an opportunity to take yet another shot at President Trump. That was the case during the past few days, when Kim Campbell tweeted that she hoped the catastrophe “scores a direct hit on Mar-a-Lago,” the resort owned by the President, and many reporters across America couldn’t be happier.

Former New York Times reporter and Fox News contributor Judith Miller shook things up on Friday morning’s Happening Now by suggesting the media needs to get tougher in reporting on Donald Trump. She said several books on Trump suggest he’s overstating his wealth and understating his associations with organized crime figures.

Miller – best known for going to jail during the Iraq war to protect her anonymous sources –  also chided her former colleagues at The New York Times to reveal the off-the-record conversations the Times editorial board had with Trump which may suggest a great flexibility in negotiating an anti-immigration policy.

Despite Barack Obama's self-congratulatory claim in 2013 that he is running the "most transparent administration in history," several watchdog groups this week have hit the President for restricting information. Yet, so far, the networks have skipped the bad news. The Associated Press on Sunday reported, "The Obama administration more often than ever censored government files or outright denied access to them last year under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act..."

The Washington Post on Tuesday reported, "A separate report this week from the National Security Archives found that 54 percent of all agencies have ignored directives that Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder issued in 2009 calling for a 'presumption of disclosure' with FOIA requests." The Center for Effective Government gave failing grades to seven Obama-era agencies, including State, Defense and Labor. Although the networks have avoided this topic, Fox News on highlighted the "spectacular failure." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

As NewsBusters has been reporting, CNN’s Don Lemon has taken a lot of heat from the left for having the nerve to agree with Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly about problems in the black community.

On Fox News’s Happening Now Monday, liberal talk radio host Alan Colmes marvelously stated, “We’ll have true equality in this country when someone like Don Lemon or any other person of color can make a statement that doesn't conform with what the so-called majority believes without being called names, without being called an Uncle Tom” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Last month, media commentator Richard Grenell broke the story about ABC and CBS News directors having siblings in the White House.

On Saturday's Fox News Watch, Grenell revealed that NBC News senior political editor Mark Murray is married to an Obama official (video follows with transcript and commentary):

As NewsBusters reported last week, America's media were in total swoon mode over Hillary Clinton following her testimony before Congress.

On Saturday, syndicated columnist Cal Thomas said of their behavior on Fox News Watch, "They're going to part the waters like Moses did the Red Sea to give her a clear path to be the first woman president...They treated [Barack Obama] as a Messiah, they’re going to treat her as the Virgin Mary" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Despite her liberal beliefs, FNC commentator Kirsten Powers has really distinguished herself by her willingness to tell the truth about America's media elite which has moved from being a legion of skeptics into a team of cheerleaders during the presidency of Barack Obama.

Earlier this week, Powers acknowledged the discomfort that many statists feel when confronted by conservative beliefs because their dominance of the media prevents them from being exposed to such thinking. Yesterday, Powers continued taking on the media saying that the White House press corps is “juvenile and amateurish” in how they cover Obama and swoon over his every move. Read on for video and discussion.

Fox News Watch host Jon Scott on Saturday asked his guests why President Obama typically ignores Fox News at his rare press conferences.

Kirsten Powers smartly answered, "Because he doesn't want to be embarrassed" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

“Every year a conservative watchdog organization, the Media Research Center, names the worst reporters of the year,” Fox NewsWatch host Jon Scott announced, ending Saturday afternoon’s show with clips from the MRC’s “Best Notable Quotables of 2012: The Twenty-Fifth Annual Awards for the Year’s Worst Reporting.”

He explained “votes were cast by some of the best and brightest in the business, including a few NewsWatch panelists.” Indeed, Cal Thomas and Jim Pinkerton were judges.

It’s commonplace for a news organization to be attacked for failing to cover certain major news events.  On the other hand, it is rare for a news outlet to be attacked for doing its job and reporting the news.

According to Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Thomas Ricks, Fox News’ extensive reporting on the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi is not only a waste of time but an example of how Fox is, “the wing of the Republican Party.”  Appearing on Monday’s Happening Now, Ricks openly called out Fox News for its coverage of what he dismissed as merely a “small firefight.”  [See video below break.  MP3 audio here.]

On Saturday's Fox News Watch, as the panel discussed the substantial attention the media devoted to Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin's claim that forcible rape victims rarely become pregnant as opposed to Vice President Joe Biden's "chains" gaffe, two recent studies by the Media Research Center -- parent organization to NewsBusters -- were cited. Host Jon Scott cited MRC analyst Scott Whitlock's study from Tuesday:

Syndicated columnist Cal Thomas made a statement on Saturday's Fox News Watch that is guaranteed to raise a few eyebrows.

"An African-American president can divide racially in this country - as I believe this one has done quite effectively - and he gets a free pass from the media" (video follows with transcript):
