On Friday's Real Time show on HBO, host Bill Maher was, in his words, doing his "greatest hits" in making incendiary comments about President Donald Trump and his family. The liberal comedian suggested that President Trump likes to "talk dirty" about his daughter Ivanka, derided Donald Trump Jr. as "Douchebag Von F**kface," claimed Trump supporters "hate" blacks, and belittled white Trump voters as "f**king crackers."
On Thursday's CNN Tonight, during a discussion of the controversy over TBS host Samantha Bee calling Ivanka Trump a "feckless c***," and Roseanne Barr comparing former Barack Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett to an ape, CNN.com contributor Dean Obeidallah came to the liberal Bee's defense, lauding her as "an important voice." And, in response to conservative talk radio host Stacy Washington complaining about the double standard of liberal comedians Bill Maher and Joy Behar being tolerated when they attack conservatives, host Don Lemon defended Behar for recently painting Christians as mentally ill.
On Friday's Real Time show on HBO, liberal comedian Bill Maher and his guests made a number of incendiary comments about conservatives, including Maher joking that HIV is "what you (Donald Trump) get for sleeping with" Fox News host Sean Hannity.
Michelle Wolf is not the first so-called comic to maliciously insult conservatives and Republicans at a White House Correspondents' Association dinner, but she was intentionally mean-spirited, and even after the blowback, she's unrepentant. Members of the liberal mainstream media have expressed disapproval over some of Wolf's comments, saying she went too far. But I'm not buying it. This is what passes as liberal humor these days. Just watch Jimmy Kimmel, Bill Maher and Stephen Colbert and tell me their humor is less malevolent.
Given the fact that thousands of New Yorkers -- including many Democratic voters -- are alive today because, in the 1990s, then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani dramatically cut the number of homicides in the city from about 2,000 to just around 600 a year, one would think he would be the one Republican that some liberals would have some respect for. But on his HBO show on Friday, far-left comedian Bill Maher likened him to Dracula and excoriated both Giuliani and President Donald Trump as being part of New York's "rat problem."
It’s the classic tool of the provocateur: when all else fails, make fun of religion.
The liberal Daily Beast website broke out in protest over a lack of decency on HBO...as if their decency was their reputation. The headline was "Bill Maher Cruelly Mocks Donald Trump Jr. Over His Divorce: The Real Time host was the only late-night comedian to tackle the unfortunate news." They even added the word "SAD" over the top for extra scolding.
Avi Selk, reporter for the Washington Post, callously suggested that liberal iconoclast and New York Times editorial writer Bari Weiss was getting what was coming to her in terms of online obloquy for her crimes against left-wing hyper-sensitivity The headline to the Arts & Entertainment “analysis” piece was even worse than the text: “A New York Times columnist blamed a far-left ‘mob’ for her woes. But maybe she deserves them.” Weiss deserved being called a racist and getting death wishes on Twitter?
As historian and MSNBC contributor Jon Meacham appeared as a guest on Friday's Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, he repeatedly made references to racist public figures or groups from history like George Wallace and the KKK as he discussed modern-day political battles and President Donald Trump. At one point, he lectured about American history: "But the forces the President embodies -- and the forces that he marshaled and managed to become President -- are perennial ones. The American spirit isn't just about Martin Luther King Jr.-- it's also about the Klan. And the battle is between those two."
Sunday, Australia's The Today Show host asked Fire and Fury author Michael Wolff whether he should apologize for starting and backing away from a rumor of an extramarital affair between UN Ambassador Haley and President Trump. Wolff then claimed that his earpiece wasn't working. At one point, when the host asked Wolff if he could hear him, the author responded almost immediately. Today subsequently demonstrated that there were no technical difficulties.
On Friday's Real Time show on HBO, host Bill Maher made a number of incendiary attacks on President Donald Trump and other right-leaning figures and entities as he called EPA head Scott Pruitt an "eco-terrorist," likened the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to the "Gestapo," and cracked that First Lady Melania Trump visited the Holocaust Museum to "cheer up" after news broke that her husband might have had an affair with a porn star.
Appearing as a guest on Friday's Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, liberal comedian and failed Comedy Central host Larry Wilmore made several snide comments about conservatives as he not only cracked that former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was "murdered by a pillow," but he poked fun at the 13 children who were infamously held prisoner and abused by their parents as he likened them to Republicans held hostage by President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence as "that creepy white couple." He also suggested that those who opposed Martin Luther King Jr. and ultimately murdered him were of the same ilk as Fox News and Republicans as host Bill Maher wondered how they would treat Dr. King if he were alive today.
