Orlando Night Club Terror Attack

Credit President Obama for finally using the words he has desperately tried to avoid during his presidency. He correctly called the mass shooting in an Orlando gay nightclub Sunday morning, which killed 49 and injured 53, "an act of terror." It was, writes The New York Times, the "deadliest attack on a gay target in the nation’s history."

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell on Wednesday excoriated the “absolute partisans” in the media who are turning the Orlando terror attack into a political attack on Donald Trump. Appearing on Fox Business’s Varney and Co., Bozell aslo ripped the “fascistic attitude that says you are not allowed to question what it is we're doing or in the case of this administration, not doing.” 

Who killed all those people in the Pulse nightclub? According to The Huffington Post, just about anybody who wasn’t actually in the club at the time of the atrocity. Appearing as a guest on Monday's CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin, liberal CNN political commentator Carl Bernstein chided Hillary Clinton and other Democrats for "parsing" on the words "Islamic terror" and warned that Donald Trump will inspire an "anti-Muslim pogrom" in the U.S. unless Muslims have a Million Muslim March against terrorism.

All the networks in the “big three” praised President Obama, during their evening shows on Tuesday, for taking the presumptive GOP nominee to task on how to fight the War on Terror. They all talked about Obama’s takedown in glowing terms, while pointing out how Donald Trump’s strategy breeds hate. The Media Research Center’s Tim Graham appeared on Fox Business Network’s Risk and Reward to discuss the liberal media’s response to the Orlando terrorist attack. “They always talk about one side goes to talking about radical Islam and the other side goes to talking about gun control,” Graham began, “And guess which side the so-called objective media goes to?” 

The North Carolina media have been predictably out of control since the state passed and signed the transgender bathroom law, but their behavior sunk even further following the Orlando terror attack when WRAL chief political correspondent Laura Leslie suggested backers of the law were to blame for the shooting because of their “rhetoric” “in the wake of this horrific anti-gay crime.”

Tuesday on Morning Joe, the gun control conversation continued in the wake of terrorism in Orlando.  However, MSNBC didn’t put the spotlight on the FBI for taking Omar Mateen off the terrorist watch list, nor did they call out Congress for letting the federal assault weapons ban expire. On Tuesday, both NBC’s Today and CBS This Morning actually promoted an offensive temper tantrum thrown by congressional Democrats in the House of Representatives on Monday during what was supposed to be a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the Orlando terrorist attack.

The networks have long attacked Chick-fil-A for its management’s opposition to gay marriage. But when the food chain opened its doors (on a Sunday no less) for the LGBT community following the Orlando shooting, ABC, CBS and NBC didn’t say a word.
