'Fact Checkers' Overwhelmingly Target Right-Wing Pols and Pundits

April 14th, 2017 9:45 PM
Thursday at NewsBusters, I noted that all of the major-media "fact-checking" efforts recognized by Duke University's ReportersLab.org website lean left, and that almost all of them are quite decidedly on the left. CBS Hails Liberal Protesters as ‘Voice of America’; Downplay GOPers

April 14th, 2017 8:21 PM
Congress is in recess, so the liberal media were bound to do their best to continue to promote disruptive, far-left attendees of Republican town halls. On Friday, CBS Evening News gave those activists a boost, touting them as the “Voice of America.” Worse yet, the two-minute-and-14-second segment only allowed 15 seconds for one conservative calmly raising concerns with an elected Democrat.

The President Is Allowed to Change His Mind

April 14th, 2017 2:28 PM
It looks like former President Obama's national security adviser Susan Rice will get a reprieve. With all the hullabaloo from President Donald Trump's military action last week in Syria's ... do we call it Syria's civil war or a massacre? ... it now appears that Rice's mishandling of surveillance is going to subside from the headlines temporarily.

Men who try to act like liberal feminists took a powerful beating on the NBC superhero comedy Powerless on Thursday night. In the episode “Green Furious,” Emily (Vanessa Hudgens) is working with superhero Green Fury on a commercial for the Wayne Security Poncho. The only problem is that the ad calls for Green Fury to be naked and that’s going to be a tough sell.

April 13th, 2017 6:05 PM
Posts over the next several days will show that certain left-leaning websites and existing left-leaning news organizations have figured out that they can employ the technique of "fact-checking," perhaps once nobly intended, as a handy device to advance a left-supporting, right-bashing agenda.

Springtime may be in bloom, but snowflakes never go out of season at America's most prestigious colleges and universities. Quivering students at the University of Notre Dame launched a protest last week against the school's decision to invite Vice President Mike Pence as commencement speaker.

Metastasizing Academic Cancer

April 13th, 2017 4:19 PM
The average American has little knowledge of the extent to which our institutions of higher learning have been infected with a spreading cancer. One aspect of that cancer is akin to the loyalty oaths of the 1940s and '50s. Professors were often required to sign statements that affirmed their loyalty to the United States government plus swear they were not members of any organizations, including…

April 13th, 2017 9:01 AM
Readers who haven't recently ventured into the fever swamp known as the Los Angeles Times may have a hard time fathoming how utterly obsessed what used to the be the West Coast's paper of record has become with the threat to civilization known as Donald Trump.
