Thursday at NewsBusters, I noted that all of the major-media "fact-checking" efforts recognized by Duke University's ReportersLab.org website lean left, and that almost all of them are quite decidedly on the left. That only begins to explain how the "fact-checkers" are distorting the news landscape.

Congress is in recess, so the liberal media were bound to do their best to continue to promote disruptive, far-left attendees of Republican town halls. On Friday, CBS Evening News gave those activists a boost, touting them as the “Voice of America.” Worse yet, the two-minute-and-14-second segment only allowed 15 seconds for one conservative calmly raising concerns with an elected Democrat.

Washington Post film critic Ann Hornaday penned a column for Friday’s paper reviewing President Trump’s first 100 days as if it were a movie, blasting him as dangerous for using friendly outlets to distract from his administration lacking any “core, coherent polic[ies]” that could end in “a train wreck.”

Whatever was the matter with Kansas when Thomas Frank wrote his book is now less daunting for the left, believes New York magazine’s Eric Levitz, who contended in a Wednesday piece that the closeness of this week’s House special election in the Wichita-centric 4th District appears to spell trouble for conservatives.

Men who try to act like liberal feminists took a powerful beating on the NBC superhero comedy Powerless on Thursday night. In the episode “Green Furious,” Emily (Vanessa Hudgens) is working with superhero Green Fury on a commercial for the Wayne Security Poncho. The only problem is that the ad calls for Green Fury to be naked and that’s going to be a tough sell.

Posts over the next several days will show that certain left-leaning websites and existing left-leaning news organizations have figured out that they can employ the technique of "fact-checking," perhaps once nobly intended, as a handy device to advance a left-supporting, right-bashing agenda.

In the moments after CNN first reported Thursday afternoon that the U.S. military dropped the “mother of all bombs” on an ISIS tunnel in Afghanistan, their Wonderlist host Bill Weir complained about the bomb’s significance, claiming in a tweet that it marked a sign of  “desperation” by the U.S. that won’t have an impact on destroying ISIS.
