Scarborough Tells Rush Limbaugh: 'Go Bag Groceries' at Supermarket

April 10th, 2020 7:49 AM

On today's Morning Joe, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough told Rush Limbaugh:

"Go to your local Publix and bag groceries. Lead by example by going to a local grocery and bagging groceries. You can do it today."

Nice, Joe. As his countless fans here are well aware, Rush is a senior citizen with Stage 4 lung cancer.

So what was Rush's crime that prompted Scarborough to make his macabre suggestion? Suggesting that President Trump should make plans to get the economy restarted, "to give people optimism . . . to move toward normalcy."

Mika Brzezinski seconded Scarborough's ghoulish proposal, chirping, "help out! Sure."

Note that keeping the economy largely open was an approach that was adopted from the beginning by Sweden, and one that Denmark and Austria are planning to soon implement. Should their gravely ill senior citizens who publicly support such measures be rounded up and forced into constant public contact too, Joe?

Here's the transcript.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: And by the way, all of these Trump talking heads that are saying we should reopen the economy now, Fauci, that it's all a hoax, that we need. Hey, Rush Limbaugh, why don't you go to your local Publix [supermarket] and bag groceries. If you think it’s such a great idea —

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Help out!

SCARBOROUGH: If you think it's such a great idea to reopen the economy, you can lead by example by going to a grocery store and bagging groceries. You can do it today.

MIKA: Sure.

SCARBOROUGH: You can do it today.
