Fake News: Dems Spin Graham’s Pro-Life Bill As ‘Abortion Ban’

The left is twisting the truth again.

On Tuesday, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, introduced a bill that would make abortions illegal after 15-weeks gestation, when a child can feel pain. Though Graham’s bill aims to save the lives of countless children, Democrats are twisting the news and calling it an abortion “ban.”

Close to three months after the reversal of Roe v. Wade, Graham introduced the newest version of the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.” His bill would save lives of unborn babies after 15-weeks gestation with rape, incest and life of the mother being exceptions to the bill.

Sen. Graham announced the bill during a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

“At the 15-week period, the science tells us that the nerve endings of the baby are pretty well developed and the child feels pain,” he said.

He wants to stop aborting babies when they can feel “excruciating pain," which seems pretty reasonable to me.

Per typical leftist behavior, legacy media is pushing the false narrative that Graham’s proposed life-saving bill, is a “national abortion ban.”

CNN’s Chris Cillizza claimed that Graham’s bill “would ban abortion nationally.”

ABC titled a video and included the words “nationwide 15-week abortion ban”

Washington Post deemed that the bill would “ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy nationwide.”

Here was how The New York Times characterized it: “Graham Proposes 15-Week Abortion Ban”

And over at Reuters, they called it a “national ban on abortion after 15 weeks” as well.

Countless others followed suit and pushed chyron and headlines with fake news.

The bill in its current form isn’t aggressive enough to protect all babies from the moment of conception. Even if Graham’s bill passes, babies all the way up until 14-weeks and 6-days can still be killed. Yet the leftist media pushed and promoted the lie about it being an abortion ban.

Legacy media sites peddled a fallacy that Republicans want control. What pro-lifers really wants is for the slaughter of the unborn to stop being commonplace.

This isn’t a battle of control. This is a battle of life or death and should have no controversy surrounding it.
