There's perhaps nothing more elitist than major national journalists whining about unemployed people getting their income back since they don’t need to worry about losing their jobs overnight. But the elitist anger of CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News notably only found select targets Monday night: red states, while states ran by Democrats were largely sheltered from their scorn.

The hosts of The View went after Dr. Deborah Birx of President Trump’s coronavirus task force team, Monday, after she scolded the media for continuing to wail about Trump’s disinfectant remark from last Thursday’s briefing. Sunny Hostin attacked Birx for not following the media’s orders, while Whoopi Goldberg claimed Trump’s sloppy remarks made him on the same level as a Nazi death camp doctor.

On Sunday evening, CBS Weekend News marked one year since Joe Biden launched his presidential campaign. Rather use the occasion to hold the presumptive Democratic nominee accountable for sexual abuse allegations leveled against him by former Senate staffer Tara Reade, the broadcast instead focused on touting Biden’s all-female short list of vice presidential picks.

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, host Chuck Todd repeatedly attacked the “credibility” of coronavirus task force doctor, Deborah Birx, as she has refused to comply with the media’s demands she politicize the virus.
