The Liberal Media’s Joy Reid Problem

April 28th, 2018 4:00 PM
Now that the demand for Laura Ingraham’s show be strangled in its crib has failed? Now that yet another attempt to whack Sean Hannity off the air has gone with the wind? Now comes the Case of Joy Reid. Suddenly, the liberal “get the host” guns have gone silent.

Congress Looks at Social Media Censorship

April 28th, 2018 2:30 PM
The House Judiciary Committee recently held a hearing on social media filtering practices. Unsurprisingly, a Pew Research Center study found that “Today around seven-in-ten Americans use social media to connect with one another, engage with news content, share information and entertain themselves.” With so many Americans on these platforms, we should know how the platforms determine the content…

Comedy Central’s Global Warming Propaganda Is a Little Self Aware?

April 28th, 2018 1:30 PM

Look out, Comedy Central has another progressive message embedded in some wacky high jinks. The comedy outpost offers a reliably left-of-center bent to much of its original content. Think Broad City, which spent an entire episode fawning over twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Or programs like The Daily Show and The Opposition with Jordan Klepper. The space between their…

Alfie and Haleigh and Charlie and Jahi

April 25th, 2018 9:31 PM
When British hospital officials tried to pull the plug on 23-month-old toddler Alfie Evans on Monday night in arrogant defiance of his parents' wishes, many Americans took to Twitter to count their blessings that they live in a country that would not allow such tyranny. "Stories like Alfie Evans make me realize how grateful I am to live in America where freedom still exists," one young social…

Educational Fraud Continues

April 25th, 2018 9:28 PM
Earlier this month, the 2017 National Assessment of Educational Progress, aka The Nation's Report Card, was released. It's not a pretty story. Only 37 percent of 12th-graders tested proficient or better in reading, and only 25 percent did so in math. Among black students, only 17 percent tested proficient or better in reading, and just 7 percent reached at least a proficient level in math.

Following Jesus, or Following Trump?

April 24th, 2018 9:33 PM
"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other." (Matthew 6:24) The verse refers to money, but in light of today's debate about the unaccountable devotion many Christian leaders have for President Trump it is not a stretch to apply it to their relationship with him.

Liberal Media Target Hannity; Attack Backfires

April 21st, 2018 4:00 PM
The liberal media was outraged. Just plain outraged! Not to mention gleeful. A lawyer for CNN and The New York Times played a role in getting a federal judge to insist that Trump lawyer Michael Cohen release the name of a third “client.” The name, it turned out, was Sean Hannity. Cue the liberal media circus.

The Child Entertainment Industry’s Coarsening Thanks to Rap Lyrics

April 21st, 2018 2:15 PM
As previously pointed out here, March 24's Kids’ Choice Awards on Nickelodeon saw a disastrously pitiful rating that was among the lowest ever. This drop was thanks to, in part, due to many of those nominated in music, movies, and TV show categories not being appropriate for children and overt endorsements of the anti-gun March for Our Lives protests.

How Woke Comedy Is Killing Laughter in Pop Culture

April 21st, 2018 1:30 PM
Sometimes a simple news item captures a problem so completely it makes your mouth go dry. Consider the following headline from Deadline.com: "As Molly Ringwald Turns On The Breakfast Club, Dare We Laugh At Amy Schumer’s I Feel Pretty? The op-ed is from the site’s executive editor, mind you, not a casual contributor. The column wonders if we’re allowed to laugh at the comedienne’s new film.

Is ‘Old-fashioned’ Returning?

April 19th, 2018 11:29 PM
"It's a modern changing world, Everything is moving fast. But when it comes to love I like, What they did in the past." -- The Everly Brothers, 1962. Call me old-fashioned -- and I've been called worse -- but do I sense the possible end to the sexual revolution, which exploded in the '60s and whose fallout continues today.

Return of the Feckless Chick-Fil-A-Phobes

April 18th, 2018 6:40 PM
Move over, Trump Derangement Syndrome. Another unhinged liberal pathology is back: Chick-fil-A-phobia. Perhaps, in the interest of public health, the CDC should launch a weekly C-F-A-P surveillance report to map the recurrence of this culturally infectious disease. Early-onset symptoms include fear of pressure-cooked poultry, allergic reaction to waffle potato fries and an irrational hatred of…

A Mayor's Most Important Job

April 18th, 2018 6:38 PM
When World War II ended, Washington, D.C.'s population was about 900,000; today it's about 700,000. In 1950, Baltimore's population was almost 950,000; today it's around 614,000. Detroit's 1950 population was close to 1.85 million; today it's down to 673,000. Camden, New Jersey's 1950 population was nearly 125,000; today it has fallen to 77,000. St. Louis' 1950 population was more than 856,000;…

Welfare Reform Again

April 17th, 2018 3:16 PM
When President Bill Clinton signed the welfare reform act in 1996, which he negotiated with then-Speaker Newt Gingrich, the left claimed people would starve. They didn't. According to the nonpartisan Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, between 1996 and 2000, the employment rate for single mothers increased from 63 percent to 76 percent.

Comey’s Coming Book Tour: Liberal Media Swoonfest

April 14th, 2018 4:00 PM
It says everything one needs to know about both James Comey and the liberal media. Even The Washington Post admits to the obvious game about the fired FBI Director’s imminent book tour. Headline from The Post: "Ready for the media’s Comey swoonfest? Nothing can stop it now."
