CBS This Morning
On Tuesday, journalists on all three network morning shows joined liberal celebrities in rushing to defend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle against accusations of hypocrisy after the supposedly environmentally-conscious royal couple took two different trips on private jets within a week. Reporters on CBS, NBC, and ABC touted other wealthy elites like Elton John and Ellen DeGeneres scolding critics for daring to question the royals’ controversial travel habits.
CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King on Tuesday repeated a nasty quote about Mike Pompeo, deriding the Secretary of State as a “heat-seeking missile for Trump’s” ass. King interviewed Pompeo for Tuesday’s show and parroted the vulgar comment from a New Yorker piece. She regurgitated, “One former American ambassador who shall not be named, this is delicate, describes you like ‘a heat-seeking missile for Trump's bottom.’ Except he used the other word.”
Both CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today show on Friday boasted of exclusive interviews with top Iranian officials eager to attack the United States and condemn international sanctions against the terrorism-sponsoring regime. Rather than show their journalists pressing Iran’s leaders on the authoritarian nation’s criminal behavior, the network reports instead offered pure propaganda.
CBS This Morning journalists on Monday attempted to downplay Elizabeth Warren’s repeated efforts to pass herself off as a Native American, calling it a “flap” and insisting that many think it’s “much ado about nothing.” Warren appeared at a Native American forum on Monday in Iowa. This is the same woman who tried to be seen as a Cherokee and who appeared in the cook book Pow Wow Chow.
On Monday, all three network morning shows kept rooting for recession as a way to harm President Trump’s 2020 reelection chances. Hosts and correspondents dismissed the White House “attempting to downplay growing concerns that the U.S. economy could be headed for a recession” while touting Democrats “seizing the moment.”
On Friday morning, the CBS This Morning crew were oblivious to recent stories about good guys with guns defending themselves from mass shooters in public places as they not only ran a story about an effort to force Kroger into becoming a gun-free zone, but the hosts also voiced agreement with sentiment from the story that "you don't need a gun to buy groceries."
At 3:00 a.m. CT on Tuesday, someone opened fire at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in San Antonio Texas. Despite both FBI and ICE officials describing the attack as “targeted” and fueled by “political rhetoric,” on Wednesday, over 24 hours after the shooting, NBC and ABC have yet to report the story while CBS This Morning only provided seconds of air time.
On Tuesday, both ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning decried the Trump administration enforcing legislation passed over two decades ago that allows the government to take into account how much legal immigrants to the United States rely on public welfare programs when considering granting them citizenship. The network broadcasts immediately channeled liberal “outrage” over the supposedly “hardline” policy.
On Tuesday, CBS This Morning was in awe of radical climate change activist Greta Thunberg, hailing the 16-year-old from Sweden as “the voice of the planet” and touting her plan to sail across the Atlantic to attend a United Nations climate summit in New York. The report particularly applauded Thunberg for scolding the United States and President Trump for not doing enough to stop global warming.
On Monday, CBS This Morning brought on left-wing American University professor Ibram Kendi to lecture viewers on the “metastatic racism” plaguing the nation, particularly in the wake of the mass shooting in El Paso. During the discussion, co-host Gayle King observed that “most people think black people can’t be racist.”
In the latest freak-out over climate change, on Thursday, all three broadcast networks warned of a new “alarming” United Nations report predicting threats to the global food supply and practically demanded that people become vegetarians to reduce methane emissions by cows. The coverage might as well have been delivered by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
CBS and ABC continued ignoring former Vice President Joe Biden’s gaffes he made Thursday while on the campaign trail, one being similar to a racist comment he made in the past about President Obama. NBC’s Today show was the only network to mention this particular gaffe, and they only covered it so they could spin it as President Trump’s fault.
