In an unbylined 11:31 a.m. Eastern Time dispatch Saturday, the Associated Press demonstrated why anyone trying to get to the truth about the status of the Hillary Clinton's private server-scandal — which is clearly not over, and clearly has not been "litigated a million times," as CNN's desperate Don Lemon claimed on Thursday in shouting down a conservative panelist — needs to go somewhere else to find it.
On Friday night, the CBS Evening News found itself divorced from the full picture of the day’s news, ignoring disgraced former Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner (N.Y.) pleading guilty to a federal obscenity charge and will register as a sex offender for sexting with an underage girl.
In a piece for CNN.com Friday afternoon, CNN Politics editor-at-large Chris Cillizza displayed the liberal media’s hypocrisy in what’s remembered versus not remembered, demanding that the media (and American people) stop talking about disgraced former Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner forever after pleading guilty to having sexual discussions with an underage girl.
Hulu’s The Mindy Project randomly peppered its latest episode "Mindy's Best Friend" with names from the political universe as if some of them were known personally. Throughout the half hour show, famous political figures were name-dropped no less than 7 times.
WASHINGTON — Is it just me, or are there others out there in my audience who find it odd that Hillary Clinton, the inevitable presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, would continue to have at the highest level of her staff a woman married to a man who has repeatedly embarrassed himself, his wife and the Democratic Party? Anthony Weiner is a pervert.
MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews made his feelings clear on Tuesday night about the latest revelations in the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal as he expressed his hopes that they just turn out to be pleas by Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner or even Hillary Clinton to “remember to pick up bread on the way home.”
Monday morning on MSNBC's Morning Joe, a mortified Mika Brzezinski went after Democrats who are now treating FBI Director James Comey as the devil personified, and came perilously close to delivering a mea culpa for her harsh criticisms of Republicans who support Republican nominee Donald Trump.
They can't help themselves. For Democrats, the Clinton campaign, and presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, everything reflecting negatively on them must be cast in a partisan light — even something as petty as the party affiliation of the congressional addressees of a letter from the FBI. At yesterday's press conference, reacting to James Comey's letter to Congress indicating that the bureau has “learned of the existence of (Hillary Clinton) emails” which he concluded must be reviewed “to determine whether they contain classified information,” Hillary Clinton twice created the impression that the FBI Director had deliberately communicated only with Republican members of the House of Representatives, and had deliberately cut Democrats out of the loop. Her contentions are blatantly false. Of course, the pliant establishment press is not reporting those portions of what Mrs. Clinton said.
Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway naturally took to the cable news airwaves on Friday afternoon to comment on the bombshell news concerning new details the FBI will investigate regarding Hillary Clinton’s e-mail server and on MSNBC, she was pressured to withdraw her candidate’s insistence that the “system” is rigged to benefit Clinton.
News broke Thursday of a new Clinton campaign e-mail exposed by WikiLeaks that reinforces the persistent notion that the Clinton Foundation is a pay-for-play scheme. And yet the “Big Three” networks ABC, CBS, and NBC pretended like it didn’t even happen. “New scrutiny tonight on the Clinton Foundation coming from what were supposed to be private e-mails,” stated Fox News Anchor Bret Baier on Special Report, moving on to ask, “How much money and how much influence were on the table in dealings involving the Clinton family charity?”
Never let it be said that the folks at the Associated Press aren't on top of the news, making sure that readers as well as subscribers who use AP copy in their radio and TV broadcasts learn the most important developments of the day.
That's sarcasm, folks. Friday evening, in a story primarily about the FBI's grant of immunity to longtime Hillary Clinton assistant Cheryl Mills, the AP's Michael Biesecker blandly informed readers — in Paragraph 22 of 25 — that, in regards to her illegal and improperly secured private server, "The new FBI documents (released Friday) also reveal that Clinton occasionally exchanged messages with President Barack Obama, who used a pseudonymous email address." That's it. Nothing unusual here. Now move along.
