The smarmy hosts of the fake-news skit "Weekend Update" on NBC's Saturday Night Live made nasty jokes about rooting for "active bioweapon" Donald Trump to die of coronavirus. Their fake debate moderator also asked about Trump's health "out of a simmering rage for his incompetence and a sadistic hope that he is not well."

On Tuesday, NBC’s Today show and ABC’s Good Morning America both worked to portray House Democrats backing impeachment as courageous politicians “putting principle before politics” rather than as partisans trying to appease the far left of their party.

Following Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan’s interview with self-described Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders, New York Times columnist and CBS News political analyst Jamelle Bouie dismissed the idea that Sanders wants to radically transform America into a socialist country before delivering a public service announcement on behalf of a “very, very robust welfare state.”

After the media spent weeks hammering Republicans and the White House over the ongoing government shutdown – while claiming Democrats have “no incentive” to compromise – Politico reported on Wednesday that many freshman House Democrats were increasingly “concerned with the party’s strategy” and even “freaking out” over the possibility of a political backlash.
