One topic that the elitist media are allergic to is “detransitioners,” people who return to identifying with their actual gender. Hanna Panreck at Fox News Digital reported that Texas detransitioner Soren Aldaco was not allowed to question Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico at the CNN/Jubilee town hall on October 14, which was hosted by Erin Burnett.
Aldaco discussed this on The Katie Miller Podcast:
"He needs to have a long-form conversation, a real face-to-face with someone like me. And, you know, I tried to when he did the CNN town hall, where he did the 'prove me wrong' [Steven] Crowder format, engaging with constituents, right? We tried to get me in that room to talk to him about this issue and to be able to give him my message through conversation, which I think is most effective. And they actually didn't get back to us until the evening before and said, 'No, we can't get you in that room,' like 'you can't talk to him,'" Aldaco said.
That’s interesting, because CNN does like embarrassing Republicans with their LGBT opposition. In a CNN-hosted Republican debate in 2007, Anderson Cooper brought on retired Gen. Keith Kerr with a YouTube question on why conservatives would think openly gay people shouldn’t serve in the military. Then Cooper told the Republicans that Kerr was present in the audience. After their response, Cooper asked Kerr “Do you feel you got an answer to your question? Kerr replied, With all due respect, I did not get an answer from the candidates,’ and then was given the floor for more advocacy for gays in the military. Cooper did not tell the audience that Kerr was a member of Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton’s "LGBT Americans For Hillary Steering Committee."
Miller asked Aldaco what she thinks Talarico is getting wrong in his positions on gender ideology.
"I think he is failing to acknowledge the repercussions of how he's been wrong in the past, because I know he's said, 'Well, I said there were six genders, and I was incorrect. I was misinformed.' And it's like, OK, but what are the repercussions of that? Because I tried to get in contact with you across five bills, four years and two sessions, and you wouldn't talk to me about bills that would have even helped people who still currently identify as trans," Aldaco told Miller.
Panreck noted that Talarico was asked during the CNN town hall about his comments like “God is non-binary.” But not by someone who once identified as transgender, which would add pressure to the exchange. Sarah Gardner, a Republican, asked Talarico “Christian to Christian” if he believes in the Bible as the “absolute source of truth,” and he said “yes.”
The Fox article also noted Talarico appeared on the New York Times podcast The Daily on October 20 and was carefully guided by the host Michael Barbaro to explain his 2021 comments on non-binary God and put them in the context of Texas politics five years ago, and Talarico kept talking about “Republican extremism.” This podcast appears on hundreds of National “Public” Radio affiliates.
