The liberal media and their allies have made abundantly clear that their claims about “common sense” gun control measures have been a giant smokescreen for gun bans and confiscations. Paul Pelosi, the husband of liberal media favorite Nancy Pelosi, on Saturday night was arrested for allegedly driving drunk. The three networks jumped into protection mode, allowing just 117 seconds total. ABC’s coverage was the paltriest, just a scant 22 seconds on Sunday night.

Football writer Peter King veered far out of his lane Monday, using his sports column to preach for gun control. He also called this country the “United States of Guns.” In his column Football Morning in America, he demanded more gun laws and called for a ban on the sales of AR-15 rifles. 

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, anchor Chuck Todd used the opening segment of his show to ridicule the calls for thoughts and prayers for the nineteen young children and two teachers who were shot and killed in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde Texas. 

NewsBusters deputy managing editor Nick Fondacaro and I assumed the helm for Friday’s show and, following a heavy week for the country following Tuesday’s deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, we spent the episode doing a deep dive on the various liberal media narratives that immediately came to the surface.

Largely averse to facts, logic, and nuance, ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS Mornings continued Thursday with their insufferable campaigns for gun control in light of the Uvalde, Texas school shooting (which wouldn’t have stopped the gunman) and shaming of anyone who opposes their policy changes, suggesting they’re uninterested in protecting kids.

The NBC, CBS and ABC morning news shows completely ignored a devastating report showing the economy shrank more than expected in the first quarter.

The network evening news in April rediscovered Joe Biden’s crisis on the southern border, offering more coverage than they had in the previous five months combined. And all it took for this was a record-smashing high for border crossings, the most in Department of Homeland Security history. In April, there were 234,088, topping the record high from March of 2022, 221,303.
