The White House is running out of people to blame for the botched exit out of Afghanistan, and some news networks aren’t letting them off the hook. ABC continued to hold the Biden administration’s feet to the fire on Tuesday, with George Stephanopoulos confronting National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Biden’s failed promise to Americans on Tuesday’s Good Morning America.

On the eve of the final withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, only ABC’s Good Morning America specifically mentioned that Joe Biden’s disaster will abandon at least 250 Americans in the country. CBS This Morning, for example, vaguely mentioned “some” would be left behind. 

Today, the big three networks chose not to report on another heartbreaking story out of the New York Times, Sunday, about university students trapped in Afghanistan, abandoned by the U.S., as the August 31 deadline nears. 

Another day, another case of stark media hypocrisy. On Wednesday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the former executive producer for Good Morning America is being sued by a fellow GMA producer for sexual assault. An ABC News veteran, Michael Corn abruptly left GMA last April after these allegations came out, which ABC kept hidden from the media. 

On Wednesday, as news broke of bipartisan members of Congress traveling to Kabul to conduct oversight of the Biden administration’s disastrous and rushed withdrawal from Afghanistan, hack reporters on the CBS and NBC morning shows parroted nasty White House talking points smearing the lawmakers – both Afghan war veterans – as “selfish” politicians creating a “distraction.”

In a lengthy interview this morning, the Good Morning America anchor repeatedly pressed the president on his administration’s “failure” in Afghanistan. However, despite some misleading statements, Biden was saved from the eager media fact-checks his predecessor was frequently exposed to.

The shocking fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban is such a failure that even the liberal networks on Monday have abandoned Joe Biden (at least for now), hammering the President as “completely wrong” and executing a Vietnam-esque Saigon “debacle.”

At any moment, Kabul would fall, the Taliban would return to running Afghanistan, and the victories in America’s 20-year-long war would be largely washed away. All of that was due to President Biden’s decision to hastily pull out of the country and leave civilians to be oppressed.
