While the rest of the media were swooning over recent Saturday Night Live episodes almost exclusively devoted to anti-Trump sketches, Monday’s Good Morning America hit pause on that narrative, wondering if it’s “going too far” “pushing their politics” and “sacrificing some laughs along the way.”

On Thursday, both NBC’s Today and ABC’s Good Morning America gleefully touted a new “rallying cry” among Democrats and liberal activists in the wake of Republicans admonishing Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren for attacking Attorney General Jeff Sessions on the Senate floor ahead of his confirmation vote.

Before Vice President Mike Pence delivered the tie-breaking vote in the Senate to confirm President Trump’s Education Secretary nominee Betsy DeVos during the noon ET hour on Tuesday, all three network morning shows heralded Democratic senators pulling an “all-nighter” in an attempt to obstruct her confirmation.

Just like they did when he was President, the morning news networks Tuesday gushed over pictures of Obama vacationing, as if he was some kind of Hollywood celebrity. ABC, CBS and NBC couldn’t get enough of the former president kitesurfing in the Virgin Islands with Virgin mobile billionaire Richard Branson, oohing and ahhing at his athleticism and relaxed demeanor.

On Monday’s Good Morning America, ABC analyst Matthew Dowd blasted Donald Trump for criticizing the federal judge who blocked his executive immigration order. Playing off of the New England Patriots’ win last night, Dowd said the true “patriots” were the ones standing up to President Trump.

Monday on Good Morning America, ABC entertainment contributor Larry Hackett appeared to give his take on the Super Bowl's halftime show with Lady Gaga.
