CNN's Piers Morgan Still Hasn't Retracted Claim DC Shooter Used an AR

On Tuesday, NewsBusters called on CNN's Piers Morgan to retract his errant claim from the previous evening that Washington Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis brought an AR-15 with him to the massacre. Much to our dismay, Morgan still has not done so.

There Could Be a Pot Commercial During Next Year's Super Bowl

Every year, millions of Americans watch the Super Bowl, some just for the fabulous new commercials. Next year, it's quite possible there's going to be an ad for marijuana.

WashTimes Writer Miller Notes Media 'Obsessed' with Linking AR-15 to N

At the New York Times on Tuesday, Michael S. Schmidt claimed that "The suspect in the killing of 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday test-fired an AR-15 assault rifle at a Virginia gun store last week but was stopped from buying one because state law there prohibits the sale of such weapons to out-of-state buyers, according to two senior law enforcement officials." The portion of…

Conservatives Should Hope CNN’s New Crossfire Succeeds

On Tuesday, I published an article gleefully applauding the poor ratings CNN’s new Crossfire received in its first week back on the air. After some reflection, I realize such sentiments went counter to my goal of having a truly fair and balanced media.

New 'Time' Editor: Former Editor Stengel's Move To Obama Admin 'A Natu

A member of the MSM moving to the Obama administration?  A "natural extension" indeed! Nancy Gibbs, the new Time editor, has really let the cat out of the bag.  Appearing on Morning Joe today, she described the move of her predecessor, Rick Stengel, from Time to a State Department job in the Obama administration, as a "natural extension" for him. Now it's true that Gibbs couched her remarks…

USA Today Puts 'Collusion' by Bozell and Graham on List of '5 Must Rea

USA Today’s website today has a list of “5 must-read books about the Obama-Romney race,” and as you might expect, there are four books by liberal political reporters: “Collision 2012" by Dan Balz, “The Message” by Richard Wolffe, “The Center Holds” by Jonathan Alter, and “Double Down” by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann (due out in November). But there’s a dash of balance: “Collusion” by L.…

Ed Schultz Delighted That Campaign Book Says Obama Had to Put Up With

Richard Wolffe, executive editor of MSNBC.com, has a new book out on Obama’s 2012 campaign called "The Message," and it’s delighting Ed Schultz. One of the findings was this, as Schultz read out loud on his radio show on Monday: “When Obama conducted an outreach effort to the Left, he had to put up with a tirade from Ed Schultz and had to hunt for a phone number to New York Times editorial…

Leno: ObamaCare So Unpopular 'President's Now Calling it BidenCare

"USA Today had a big front-page feature on the new healthcare law, and said that the opposition to ObamaCare at all-time high. In fact, it’s gotten so bad the President’s now calling it BidenCare." So marvelously said NBC Tonight Show host Jay Leno Tuesday (video follows with absolutely not need for additional commentary):

Bozell Column: Obama, Spiked For His Own Good

President Obama barely noticed, but there was a horrific mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday. In what has become a signature of this administration, a tone-deaf Obama pressed ahead with his plans to attack the Tea Party Republicans at an event marking five years since the financial crisis erupted.  After some perfunctory remarks of condolence, Obama commenced with what the…

Abolish the Fed, Says Sun Microsystems Co-founder

On CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Tuesday, Sun Microsystems founder and Harvard-trained economist Scott Mc Nealy asserted the Federal Reserve has become a "marketing department" for the government and "shouldn't be in any business at all. They shouldn’t be in the business of taxing people by devaluing the dollar, and they shouldn’t be in the business of setting expectations." He said the Fed should…

Establishment Press Virtually Ignores Occupy Movement's Second Anniver

A 6 p.m. Google News search on "Occupy Movement" (not in quotes, sorted by date) returned 69 items dated September 16 and 17. The same search adding the word "capitalism" returned only two items. This is odd, because, as one of the two items returned noted, "capitalism" — as in ending it — is the core platform of the few who remain involved with the two year-old movement.

TIME 'Ideas' Blogger: Stop Military Recruiters From 'Infiltrat[ing]' A

American kids are woefully behind the curve when it comes to courses of study in the STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math] fields, liberals love to tell us. To prepare our kids for success in a global economy, we need more federal involvement in education, they argue. But heaven forbid the U.S. military be part of that solution, that might lead to a "militarization of young minds…

David Limbaugh Column: David Brooks's Lame Trashing of Sen. Cruz

New York Times columnist David Brooks argued on PBS' "NewsHour" Friday night that "Sen. Ted Cruz and similar legislators" are obstructionists who care more about undermining the Republican establishment than advancing legislation. Note that I didn't use "conservative" to modify "columnist" or "David Brooks," though the Times and other mainstream media outlets routinely bill Brooks as…
