Over the weekend, three of the nation’s top health officials and members of the Coronavirus Task Force, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, began their two weeks of at-home quarantine after they came in contact with someone with the virus. NBC’s Sunday Today, used the opportunity to take a morbid victory lap and cheer it as a rebuke of President Trump and calls to reopen. Political director Chuck Todd even joked that “it felt like a weird plot twist in a horror movie.”
On Monday, the network morning shows predictably all seized on an open letter from former Justice Department officials demanding the resignation of Attorney General William Barr. However, the broadcasts conveniently left out the fact that several of the ex-DOJ employees who signed on to the letter currently serve as professional anti-Trump pundits on CNN and MSNBC.
The Democratic Party and media crusade to impeach President Trump didn’t appear to be going well Sunday, as New Jersey Democratic Congressman Jeff Van Drew was set to vote against the Articles of Impeachment and become a Republican in the process. ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Sunday Today spent some of their mornings trying to convince the public it was no big deal. Yet, part of the intent of the hearings was to peel Republicans away from Trump, which would’ve been celebrated.
Putting his life at risk by traveling to a war zone, President Trump traveled secretly to Afghanistan to spend Thanksgiving with our troops on the ground, he even served them dinner. It was something special but ABC and NBC refused to check their petty politics at the door. In addition to reporting on his holiday visit, those networks decided to serve up the attacks of former Navy Secretary Richard Spencer, who chose to resign recently after disagreeing with the President.
On Sunday evening and Monday morning, network broadcasts on NBC, ABC, and CBS celebrated Joe Biden “fighting back” against President Trump’s efforts to “weaponize” suspicious foreign business deals by the former Vice President’s son. Reporters also touted Hunter Biden’s pledge to quit the board of a Chinese-backed company as an attempt “to rob the President of a key talking point.”
Despite that there were still few facts known and a whole lot of speculation about the allegations made by the anonymous and so-called “Trump whistleblower,” ABC and NBC were more than willing to throw their weight behind the effort. Their Sunday coverage seemed to come at the behest of former Vice President Joe Biden, who on Saturday yelled at Fox News reporter Peter Doocy and demanded the press “ask the right question” about President Trump.
MSNBC anchor Ayman Mohyeldin's assertion that President Trump would prefer immigration from "Nordic countries" drew a pushback from NBC correspondent Kelly O'Donnell on Monday morning.
On Monday morning, MSNBC repeatedly touted House Democrats holding hearings to try to keep the Mueller Report in the news after the results of Special Counsel’s Russia investigation disappointed liberal lawmakers and reporters. The coverage claimed President Trump’s political opponents were simply “educating the public” and “bringing the Mueller to life” with the partisan stunt.
NBC political director Chuck Todd lamented the “real dilemma” Congressional Democrats had on their hands following the Special Counsel finding no collusion by the Trump campaign with Russia. During NBC’s Sunday Today, Todd opined about how the Democrats had to decide whether or not they wanted to chase their dreams of impeachment, and come to terms with the “unintended consequences” for each scenario.
Minutes before President Trump announced a deal to end the partial government shutdown Friday afternoon, the anchors and correspondents on MSNBC were beside themselves with glee over the development, cheering it as a “ginormous win” for Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
If there’s one thing the anti-Trump resistance members in the liberal media love more than themselves, it’s praising other like-minded people protesting the President. And if it’s people from another country, that’s even better. NBC demonstrated that love during Sunday Today when White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell praises a dangerous aerial stunt at Trump’s Scotland resort as “spectacular.”
Showing how delusional CNN and MSNBC are with wall-to-wall coverage of Roseanne Barr’s deranged, racist tweet about former Obama official Valerie Jarrett, it took until at least the ninth question in Wednesday’s White House Press Briefing for the now-fired ABC star to come up.
