Long-time network political analyst Jeff Greenfield has a column at Politico provocatively titled “ The Left’s Year of Magical Thinking: Fantasies about the Second Amendment, the Mueller investigation and Stormy Daniels threaten to sabotage the Democrats in November.”

it’s most intriguing when he slams liberal cable news for obsessing over the Russia probe when there are other juicy liberal agenda items

Jeff Greenfield wrote an article in the March 25 Politico Magazine about the time Hollywood produced a movie about an American president who became a fascist. So how long do you think it was before the inevitable name of Trump appeared? Well, you didn't even have to wait to begin reading the article, The Hollywood Hit Movie That Urged FDR to Become a Fascist, because you had this in the subtitle, Mostly forgotten now, ‘Gabriel Over the White House’ is worth watching to understand the Trump era.

During a debate about how important it was to listen to the views of average Trump voters on CNN’s Reliable Sources Sunday, political commentator Jeff Greenfield noted that the outlet hyped the Russia investigation to the point where it seemed as though the President would be indicted at any second. This, as political commentator Neera Tanden of the Center for American Progress and former Hillary Clinton policy director, claimed that the media didn’t listen to the anti-Trump resistance enough.

In a stunning admission that contradicted Scarborough’s numerous past attempts to paint Trump as sociopathic, homicidally insane, and suffering from predementia, Joe responded to Greenfield’s arguments by conceding that in regards to these sorts of claims about Trump’s mental instability: “You have to have [...] objective evidence, the sort of objective evidence that we do not have and most likely will not have.”

With the remains of Hurricane Harvey still threatening the communities and lives of the people living along the coast of Texas, the liberal media still couldn’t put their obsession with President Trump aside. In a segment of CNN’s Reliable Sources on Sunday, host Brian Stelter wanted to talk about Trump’s description of political journalists as “sick people” from earlier in the week. But his panel twisted Trump’s words to connect them to those reporters covering the hurricane and those in war zones.

Politico accused Stephen Miller in a new article of being a Soviet anti-Semite following his exchange with Jim Acosta on Wednesday. Entitled “The Ugly History of Stephen Miller’s ‘Cosmopolitan’ Epithet,” Jeff Greenfield goes on to explain how ‘cosmopolitan’ was originally a term used by Josef Stalin that served as an excuse “to purge the culture of dissident voices.” This accusation is particularly ironic given the fact that Stephen Miller is, in fact, Jewish.

In one of the last segments on Sunday’s Reliable Sources, CNN host Brian Stelter spent nearly four and half minutes whining about the public, specifically Trump supporters, who don’t believe the news media. “If you don't believe the ‘media,’ then you probably don't believe that the Trump administration has had a dysfunctional few months,” he chided at the start of the segment. “If you don't believe the ‘media,’ you might not believe Russia's meddling in last year's election is a very big deal.”

Bill Clinton’s personal conduct has exasperated liberals for roughly as long as his political success has exhilarated them. While some of them dismissed his get-together with attorney general Loretta Lynch as trivial, others saw it as yet another of his potentially damaging, impulse-driven unforced errors. Esquire’s Charles Pierce called the meeting “stupid and reckless” and fumed, “For the second presidential campaign in a row, Hillary Rodham Clinton is afflicted with a husband who can't make a political move any more without breaking the china across the room.”

Appearing as a guest on Monday's Morning Joe on MSNBC, veteran political analyst Jeff Greenfield -- whose career has spanned ABC, CNN, CBS and PBS -- declared that Hillary Clinton could be vulnerable over sexual assault accusations against her husband as he asserted that "the lurking danger for Hillary Clinton is, first, was she enabling the behavior and, more important, assaulting the reputation of the accusers?"

Greenfield ended up slamming feminists and liberals who defended President Bill Clinton's "predatory behavior" in the 1990s, asserting that they "have a lot to answer for."

Veteran journalist Jeff Greenfield joined host Lawrence O’Donnell on Thursday’s edition of MSNBC’s The Last Word for some old-fashioned liberal punditry and expressed hope that the growing support for socialist presidential candidate Bernie Sanders could signal the “healthy” birth of “a socialist wing of the Democratic Party...that Europeans would recognize as a left wing.”

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, NBC’s Chuck Todd reacted to his trip to the Iowa State Fair by admitting that he “was stunned at how many -- how easily it was to find these Democrats willing” to criticize Hillary Clinton over her e-mail scandal among other issues.

On Wednesday night, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell began his show by cheering President Obama’s news conference performance and declared he “demonstrated more confidence at the podium than any president in the history of televised presidential press conferences, more even than Kennedy.”
