During a discussion on Monday’s Morning Joe about the upcoming debate in Congress over raising the debt ceiling, host Joe Scarborough and his entire panel of liberal journalists agreed that Republican leaders would have to make a “full capitulation to Nancy Pelosi” in order to increase the nation’s borrowing limit and overcome opposition from conservatives in the House Freedom Caucus.

USA Today correspondent Heidi Przybyla continued the liberal spin about the Georgia congressional special election into Friday’s print edition, still emphasizing that the non-win by Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff represented doom for Republicans in the form of losing the House in the 2018 midterms.

You just can’t win at USA Today. The paper blasted the President on Wednesday with this headline: “Trump too late on hate, critics say.” This came a day after the author of the article appeared on MSNBC to say that anti-Semitism is becoming “mainstream” behavior on the right. 

Appearing as a guest on Tuesday’s Hardball, MSNBC political analyst and USA Today senior political reporter Heidi Przybyla brazenly argued that anti-Semitism is becoming “mainstream” on the right after having been only a “fringe, alt-right, white nationalist movement.”

On Wednesday’s Hardball, MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews decried Republican silencing of Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) for breaking Senate rules as “brutal” and “stupid politics” because “people are going to rally to her and say she’s got spunk” for Democrats to defeat President Trump.

Appearing as a guest on Wednesday’s Hardball, The Root political editor Jason Johnson told his fellow MSNBC panelists that Russian President Vladimir Putin was the biggest winner of 2016 because he succeeded where Mikhail Gorbachev and the late Fidel Castro couldn’t in “[taking] over the United States” via a “coup” through “Manchurian candidate” Donald Trump. 

With even traditional outlets like the Associated Press and liberal journalists raising concerns about the Clinton Foundation, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews and EMILY’s List president Stephanie Schriock did their best on Tuesday to stave off the damage by making sure viewers knew that the foundation has been “very transparent and ethical” in doing “great work.” 

MSNBC viewers were treated to two hours of Hardball Wednesday night following Donald Trump being anointed the presumptive GOP presidential nominee and while previewing the believed match-up of Trump and Hillary Clinton, host Chris Matthews and a guest mocked Hillary Clinton scandals as “garbage” and conservatives invoking the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi as deranged.

Chris Matthews couldn’t help himself from stoking the flames of fear against firearms Thursday night after the contentious Democratic debate on CNN. “Everybody walks the streets afraid of getting knocked off. Let’s face it, there's still a lot of violence on the streets even in New York, which is pretty safe,” he exclaimed on MSNBC.
