In a sign of just how upset the liberal media are about Friday’s release of the Republican House Intelligence Committee memo, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer decided to become Jim Acosta by viciously interrupting and attacking Congressman Chris Stewart (Utah) and his fellow Republicans.
Minutes after the White House and congressional Republicans released the much-anticipated FISA memo detailing allegations of political bias in the Justice Department’s Russia investigation, Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd took to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports to denounce the move and media competitors who got the scoop first.
It was as if an asteroid was on its way to CNN’s D.C. bureau on Friday when the Republican House Intelligence Committee memo was released as CNN analysts and reporters did everything in their power to dismiss the memo and defend Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS. Chief political analyst Gloria Borger concocted perhaps the biggest pretzel of them all, dismissing the memo’s concerns about an anti-Trump, leftist bias by Steele and Fusion GPS that put together the dossier because, well, people rely on biased sources to get to the truth all the time.
RESTON, VA – Media Research Center President Brent Bozell issued a statement today slamming the media’s coverage of the newly released congressional memo concerning FISA abuses at the DOJ and FBI. The bombshell report documents multiple surveillance abuses carried out by the FBI against then-candidate Donald Trump.
Seconds before the official release of the highly anticipated House Intelligence Committee memo on abuses of power within the FBI, CNN political director David Chalian was furious that it was distracting from Russia’s “attack on our democracy” and heaped praise on Republican Senator John McCain (Ariz.) for a statement condemning the memo.
During a friendly interview with Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff on Friday’s CBS This Morning, co-host Norah O’Donnell teed up the liberal lawmaker to trash the upcoming release of a Republican memo alleging an abuse of the FISA system against the Trump campaign in 2016. She claimed the document in question would only show the GOP’s “profound ignorance.”
Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos practically had a conniption on Friday’s show, complaining he was "stunned" by a single tweet from the president questioning the FBI and Justice Department’s impartiality around “release the memo.” As soon as the show had begun, Stephanopoulos jumped right in to tout the tweet as the “bitter” final straw between Trump and the two organizations.
Since the House Intelligence Committee, chaired by Congressman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), voted on Monday to release a memo detailing alleged misconduct and legal abuses by the FBI, the three major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) have been acting like the mouthpiece for the Democratic Party. Between January 29, when the vote was held, and February 1, the networks dedicated roughly three and a half times the coverage to worries about releasing the memo than the allegations against the FBI than its purported contents.
In another sign of tension ahead of the highly-anticipated intelligence memo’s release, Thursday’s Hardball was in DEFCON-1 territory with MSNBC host Chris Matthews and his A-Block guests melting down over the “all-out war” that could lead to a “constitutional crisis.”
During a discussion on CNN’s Wolf Thursday afternoon, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Wehle referred to the decision to release the so-called “mystery memo” that details surveillance abuse by the FBI as a “Constitutional abomination” and “a scam on the American public.”
CNN suffered another media meltdown on Thursday as political analyst Brian Karem absolutely freaked out over the potential release of a congressional memo on surveillance abuses. According to Karem, this was an example of “mad” “mafia boss” Donald Trump getting ready to end democracy.
With Tuesday’s State of the Union well-received by the public (and not the liberal media), it was time to move on and back to spreading fake news, attacking Christians, and hurling around tired insults. Luckily for the Resistance, Wednesday’s Hardball accomplished just that thanks to four cringe-worthy moments featuring host Chris Matthews and a team of liberal guests and journalists.
