As if media behavior concerning a motive of Sunday’s Orlando terror attack hadn’t already sunk towards the bottom, NBC’s Dateline vastly accelerated the spin not toward radical Islamists but gun control with correspondent Josh Mankiewicz lecturing the American people that Islam almost never related to mass shootings but “our long history” of people dying are instead.

Each of the network evening newscasts devoted the duration of their air time to the terrorist attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando and, unfortunately, the networks immediately rushed to the issue of gun control and did only the bare minimum to highlight Omar Mateen’s radical Islamic beliefs. 

Closing out a special edition NBC Nightly News on Sunday night, weekday anchor Lester Holt and correspondent Harry Smith irresponsibly framed the Orlando terror attack on a gay nightclub as being an issue of gun control and mass shootings instead of one concerning the ideology of radical Islamists and anyone who wavers from it.

Hours after this morning's massacre in Orlando, Florida, the Associated Press is already brandishing the gun-control agenda. In a report with a time stamp of 9:16 a.m. Eastern Time, the AP, with its list apparently always at the ready, gave the following headline to its rundown of "some of the nation's deadliest rampages since 2012": "Florida nightclub attack just the latest US mass shooting."…

MSNBC's Morning Joe on Tuesday finally mentioned the controversy over the misleading edits in Katie Couric's recent documentary, Under the Gun. Joe Scarborough blasted the production as "one of the most stunning things I've ever seen...just a complete hit job on a group of Americans." Every time Donald Trump makes what is perceived as a gaffe or a controversial comment, the networks don’t hesitate to cover it. Yet, when Hilary Clinton on Sunday refused to agree that the Second Amendment is an individual right, the comment was ignored on the evening newscasts and Monday’s morning shows. 

First it was deceptive edits and now it looks like Katie Couric’s producers for “Under the Gun” may have broken gun laws. According to The Federalist’s Sean Davis it appears Couric’s  director Stephanie Soechtig admitted to violating federal law. On Friday, Davis reported: “It turns out that Couric’s production team deliberately conspired to violate federal gun laws.”

Univision's uniquely biased brand of "no two sides" advocacy journalism is no secret to anyone, particularly readers of this byline. Today, the network is partnering with a notorious Bloomberg-funded anti-gun group in propaganda efforts aimed at pressuring the public into creating a demand for increased curtailment of our Second Amendment rights.
