Dateline: Shootings Are 'Undeniable Part of American Life' Due to Guns

As if media behavior concerning a motive of Sunday’s Orlando terror attack hadn’t already sunk towards the bottom, NBC’s Dateline vastly accelerated the spin not toward radical Islamists but gun control with correspondent Josh Mankiewicz lecturing the American people that Islam almost never related to mass shootings but “our long history” of people dying are instead.

CBS, NBC Tout SPLC, Declare Gun Control at ‘Forefront’ of 2016 Race

Each of the network evening newscasts devoted the duration of their air time to the terrorist attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando and, unfortunately, the networks immediately rushed to the issue of gun control and did only the bare minimum to highlight Omar Mateen’s radical Islamic beliefs.

Closing out a special edition NBC Nightly News on Sunday night, weekday anchor Lester Holt and correspondent Harry Smith irresponsibly framed the Orlando terror attack on a gay nightclub as being an issue of gun control and mass shootings instead of one concerning the ideology of radical Islamists and anyone who wavers from it.

Hours after this morning's massacre in Orlando, Florida, the Associated Press is already brandishing the gun-control agenda. In a report with a time stamp of 9:16 a.m. Eastern Time, the AP, with its list apparently always at the ready, gave the following headline to its rundown of "some of the nation's deadliest rampages since 2012": "Florida nightclub attack just the latest US mass shooting."…

Couric’s ‘Under the Gun’ Producers May Have Broken the Law

First it was deceptive edits and now it looks like Katie Couric’s producers for “Under the Gun” may have broken gun laws. According to The Federalist’s Sean Davis it appears Couric’s  director Stephanie Soechtig admitted to violating federal law. On Friday, Davis reported: “It turns out that Couric’s production team deliberately conspired to violate federal gun laws.”

‘Under the Gun’ Director Refuses to Apologize to ‘Radical’ Group

While Katie Couric finally expressed some regret for a deceptive edit in her anti-gun documentary, the director of “Under the Gun” remains defiant. On Wednesday, Stephanie Soechtig told Variety magazine that “had I known that the NRA would focus on eight seconds of a two-hour film, I might have done things differently. But I made the creative decision and I stand by it.”
