Republicans in Texas are doing what might be expected of red state Republicans and that has The 11th Hour's Brian Williams very concerned. On his Friday show on MSNBC, Williams worried that "the Texas brand" will spread to other states, just like Jim Crow did.

At the blog Legal Insurrection, Stacey Matthews picked on PolitiFact for its incredibly lame Twitter criticism of Sen. Charles Grassley at a Wednesday Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on H.R. 4, which Democrats call the "John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act." The senator accurately noted polls show a strong majority of Americans favor voter ID laws.

The Dispatch actually tried to pass off a George Soros-funded group attacking The American Conservative Union as “nonpartisan.”

CNN celebrated a liberal law professor in a congressional hearing yesterday telling Senator Ted Cruz that Texas’s voter ID law was “racist.” 

Climate activist James Murdoch gave at least $1 million to a group fighting to undermine state oversight of elections. That same group also backed Big Tech censorship against former President Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, the left-wing hosts of CBS This Morning all radically advocated that convicted felons should have the right to vote, claiming that anyone losing that right as punishment for their crimes was “ridiculous,” “mind-boggling,” and “wrong.” They predictably suggested racism was the motivation for the legal restriction.

New York Times congressional reporter Carl Hulse forwarded Democratic attacks against Chief Justice John Roberts while promoting Democratic legislation that attempts to dodge Supreme Court disapproval: “As Democrats Renew Voting Rights Push, Offsetting Roberts Court Is Top of Mind.” 

On his Saturday show on MSNBC, Ali Velshi welcomed Prof. Cristina Beltran and NPR/PBS veteran Ray Suarez to discuss the latest threat to democracy: Republican redistricting. Beltran said it has an "ugly logic of removal...I think they're trying to disappear a lot of Americans politically."

Forget New York's Andrew Cuomo with his nursing home and sexual harassment scandals. According to CNN's Don Lemon and Matthew Dowd, Texas' Greg Abbott "is in a race to be the worst possible governor" with Florida's Ron DeSantis. Dowd said "Greg Abbott is the Dr. Evil of Texas government. Everything he does is cruel and craven." 

Marking the 56th anniversary of passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965, on Friday, MSNBC’s Morning Joe pushed the panic button when it came to Republican-backed voting reforms advancing in states across the country and the failure of Democrats in Congress to force through a federal takeover of elections. The hysterical panel feared that GOP legislatures enacting new election laws…

Conservative groups trying to ensure reasonable safeguards against voter fraud like requiring voter ID are painted as "vote suppression" villains. On Monday's Andrea Mitchell Reports, the host touted "celebrated reporter" Jane Mayer of The New Yorker attacking the Bradley Foundation and their grantees like the Heritage Foundation for "trying to suppress the vote." 

At the end of ABC’s This Week on Sunday, fill-in moderator Jonathan Karl gushed over “an historic election here in Washington, D.C.” of a convicted – and still incarcerated – murderer to local office in the city. The host hailed the development as “charting a new course for voting rights and racial justice” while introducing a report that radically lobbied for convicted felons still…
