Facebook banned the Committee to Defend the President, a pro-Trump Super PAC, from running ads on the platform. The August 6 move was due to the committee’s alleged spread of “misinformation.”

President Donald Trump’s WeChat executive order shows the war on Chinese subterfuge is bigger than just TikTok. Trump issued two different executive orders on Thursday evening: The “Executive Order on Addressing the Threat Posed by TikTok” placed a ban on TikTok from being used in the U.S., and the “Executive Order on Addressing the Threat Posed by WeChat” placed a ban on WeChat.

President Donald Trump’s administration warned that it was considering a ban on Chinese social media. And it delivered in a big way last evening. Trump signed an executive order Thursday night, “Executive Order on Addressing the Threat Posed by TikTok,” banning transactions with communist Chinese-owned ByteDance Ltd. or its subsidiaries, including the TikTok app.

Even the left is beginning to understand the danger of the Chinese-owned app TikTok after months of concern. 
Bloomberg news reported on July 27 that the Biden campaign sent a memo to staffers, telling them to delete the app from both their work and personal devices due to security and privacy concerns.
