In Obama Ad, Actress Offers Tampon TMI, But Can't Say the Word 'Abortion'?

Actress Elizabeth Banks made a campaign video for Obama-Biden 2012 – just barely. Almost the entire 75 seconds is a defense of Planned Parenthood and their “essential services,” which is the euphemism feminists use to describe America’s leading provider of abortions.

In fact, Banks could not bring herself to even mention the word or the concept of abortions, except indirectly as “that little five percent” of controversial things PPFA does that judgmental Mitt Romney dislikes. This is quite shocking in its discretion, considering Banks unloads TMI and talks about her massive menstrual flow:

BANKS: Planned Parenthood is something I care very deeply about. Um, Planned Parenthood was my health care provider when I didn't have insurance after graduating from college. Yes, I got birth control -- but it was for my massive migraine headaches and uh, my heavy flow -- yeah, I'm on record saying I've got a heavy flow.

And unfortunately, these are things I don't want to discuss with employers. I don't want to talk about that with my employer. That’s between me and my doctor. And that time, my doctor happened to be at Planned Parenthood. So I’m really grateful that they exist and provide essential services for women all over this country.

These services that they provide – uhhh, what is it? Ninety-five percent of them don’t involve anything controversial. So for that little five percent that Mitt Romney decides he doesn’t agree with, he’s going to take away – cancer screenings? What is he doing? He’s going to take away people’s access to health care, close by? We’re talking about working-class ladies that need health care. That’s it, that’s Planned Parenthood. And I don’t know how communites can get by without them.

President Obama has not compromised on um, women’s rights, and that’s why President Obama needs to stay in office.

Jill Stanek notes that the percentage is open to dispute, but  “that little 5%” amounted to 329,445 children murdered by Planned Parenthood in 2010. In total, since Planned Parenthood is on record for committing abortions since 1970, “that little 5%” amounts to over 5 MILLION children murdered by the United States’ largest abortion provider."
