'The View' Panelists Express Delight Over Michael Flynn's Resignation

During Tuesday's edition of The View, ABC's weekday talk show, each of the five female co-hosts was delirious with joy as the panelists discussed Michael Flynn's resignation as the Trump administration's national security adviser.

After Whoopi Goldberg stated that Flynn was "not feeling the love this morning,” fellow comedienne Joy Behar demanded that the 2016 presidential be “done again” because she believes that “the Russians handed the presidency to Donald Trump.”

Three weeks ago, Goldberg asserted, “the Justice Department warned the White House” that Flynn “could be vulnerable to blackmail for talking about sanctions with the Russian ambassador. They said 'Get him out of there.' Nobody listened.”

Instead, they fired Sally Yates, the acting attorney general and “the person who said 'Don't do this.'”

The panelists then showed a clip filmed aboard Air Force One on Friday in which Trump said “I don't know about it; I haven't seen it” regarding accusations about Flynn.

That video was followed by a clip in which Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway stated: “General Flynn does enjoy the full confidence of the president, and it's a big week for him.”

“Yeah, a big week,” the panelists jeered.

Goldberg then noted: “Remember, [Flynn] is the same guy that started the chant 'Lock her up!'” referring to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and the scandals surrounding her.

“And he said Hillary (Clinton) is a national security threat,” Behar stated. “Now he is.”

Fellow co-host Sunny Hostin asserted that Flynn was fired by former President Barack Obama because “he was insubordinate. because he failed to follow the guidance of his superiors.”

“And so they were on notice that this guy was rogue, that this guy didn't follow protocol, and so why would you put him in charge of national security?” Hostin asked.

Behar responded: “Because he was in bed with the Russians just like Donald Trump is.”

She then slammed the president again: “I thought he knew more than the generals. He knows everything else, and suddenly 'Gee! What could this be?'”

“There's no way that he didn't know about it,” Jedediah Bila claimed, “because it wasn't just Yates that warned, it was (former Director of National Intelligence) James Clapper, it was (former Central Intelligence Director) John Brennan.”

Bila continued:

Now, Kellyanne Conway has a responsibility to be informed. It's your job to know, and it's Donald Trump's job to know.

If there's someone in your administration that could potentially jeopardize our national security, that becomes our problem, and it's your job to protect us, your number one job.

Goldberg then asserted: “When you don't vet your people correctly, when you put them in to piss people off, and (White House Chief Strategist) 'President' (Steve) Bannon did this” because these were not Trump's picks, “these were people picked for him by 'President' Bannon.”

Behar then noted: “So the question really remains: Did the Russians hand the presidency to Donald Trump?

“Yes,” Goldberg and the other co-hosts shouted.

“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again,” Behar stated: “Just do the election over again. It was not a fair election. It was not correct.”

At that point, Sarah Haines joined the fray by asserting: “The other issue was: What was that conversation? If he was speaking about sanctions, those sanctions were imposed because President Obama was saying: 'There are consequences if you're meddling in our elections.'”

Vice President Mike Pence “didn't know” about Flynn's actions, Haines continued, so “they threw him under the bus because he's defending Flynn. It's horrible all around.”

“I believe they're all complicit,” Goldberg added, “because when you're the vice president, and you see that this person is not a smart choice, when you see his insubordination to the president, you can't sanction that, so he went along with it.”

She then stated: “I say this to all those Republicans, This is all on you guys. You rushing all these people through, you don't care, it's going to come back and bite y'all.”

Behar responded:

They don't care because while all this is going on, (House of Representatives Speaker) Paul Ryan and the rest of them are slipping through their reactionary agenda, to overturn ObamaCare, to sneak their little two cents into Medicare, to get rid of all of the safety net and environmental controls, all the things that they want to do.

“You say the Republicans don't care,” Haines stated. “I think a lot of Republicans care very deeply about what [Trump] is doing.

“Well then, why don't they open their mouths?” Behar responded.

“You know what?” Goldberg asked. Pence “knew better, and all of them knew. They all said we're not going to go along with this, and they all caved.”

This one-sided discussion is all the more amazing since the panelists on The View have actually claimed: “People get their news from this show.”
