The liberal media were continuing to stir the pot of hate against President Trump on Thursday with ABC’s World News Tonight, which featured ongressional correspondent Mary Bruce gushing about Democratic presidential candidates on the campaign trail in Iowa calling President Trump a “white supremacist.”
Fill-in anchor Tom Llamas boasted about Bruce’s work at the Iowa State Fair as he introduced the segment. “Front-runner Joe Biden showing up on the fair's opening day, asked flat-out, is the President a white supremacist? How he answered, and what some of the other candidates are saying tonight,” he hyped.
“The early front-runner greeting his supporters, eating ice cream, and using his harshest language yet to take on the President, as some of his rivals have flat-out labeling him a white supremacist,” Bruce reported as she played a soundbite of herself asking Biden about Trump’s alleged racism:
BRUCE: Do you believe the President is a white supremacist?
BIDEN: I believe everything the President has said and has done encourages white supremacists. And I'm not sure there's much of a distinction. As a matter of fact, it may be even worse.
Of course, ABC and Bruce ignored Biden’s recent snafu where he suggested: “Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”
She followed that up with a soundbite of former Texas Congressman, failed Senate candidate, and 2020 hopeful Beto O’Rourke agreeing with MSNBC correspondent Jacob Soboroff’s premise that Trump was a racist.
Then came Bruce touting how Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA) “doubled down” on calling Trump a “white supremacist” while in Iowa. “He can't have it both ways. He can't keep trying to stir this up, give aid and comfort, be embraced by the white supremacists and then say ‘Oh, but not me.’ No, he's responsible,” Warren declared in the clip ABC shared.
Bruce was also dismissive of President Trump’s defense of himself:
BRUCE: After the hate-filled massacre in El Paso, Trump has insisted his rhetoric is not to blame.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: No, I don't think my rhetoric has at all. I think my rhetoric is very -- it brings people together.
BRUCE: And he's trying to turn the tables, insisting Democrats are the ones who are racist, tweeting, "The Democrats new weapon is actually their old weapon, one which they never cease to use when they are down or run out of facts, racism. They are truly disgusting."
“Biden told me point-blank that whether the President is or is not a white supremacist, he believes that everything Trump does speaks to them, and Biden saying the President is too afraid to take them on now,” she concluded.
