CBS, NBC Ignore Hamas Launching Hundreds of Missiles at Israeli Civilians

November 12th, 2018 11:16 PM

In a true act of anti-Semitism, the Hamas terrorist organization launched hundreds of Qassam rockets and other projectiles into southern Israel on Monday. While the Iron Dome defense system intercepted most of the weapons, a few managed to get through, striking homes and businesses. This attack, which many say was the largest since the 2014 war, didn’t get airtime on CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News. Instead, they hyperventilated about dumb high school kids apparently giving the “Nazi salute”.

Before their prom earlier this year, a group of male students (including a black student) from the Baraboo high school in Wisconsin showed off their poor judgment and posed for a photo where many (not all) of them had their right arm extended. The photo drew outrage from many as it appeared they were doing the Nazi salute. It also drew full coverage from all three broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC).

The hysteria was so great that both ABC and NBC touted authorities as looking to see if they could nail the dumb high school students on serious charges, despite no one being harmed. “The school district is calling the gestures extremely inappropriate launching an investigation and exploring possible legal action, police assisting in the case,” reported NBC’s Ron Mott.

To prove how detached from reality they were, those same networks pushed the long-debunked claim that the “okay” sign stood for “white power.” While there was a kid making the “okay” sign, he was clearly playing the so-called “circle game,” which dated back to the 80s. According to Dictionary.com, “The Circle Game is an activity where one person makes a ‘circle’ with their fingers and holds it below their waist, convincing a second person to look at it. If the second person looks, they receive a punch to the shoulder.”

After dedicating a full report to the dumb high school kids (in which they were the only network to fully blur the students’ faces), ABC only allowed a fleeting news brief for Hamas’s anti-Semitism delivered by anchor David Muir:

Overseas tonight, and to the deadly escalation of the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians. Tonight, the worst in years. Palestinians firing hundreds of rockets from Gaza into southern Israel. Many intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome defense system, but many more slipping through. Israel retaliated with air strikes, knocking out Hamas TV for a time. The violence was triggered by a botched Israeli undercover operation inside Gaza that killed seven Palestinian militants and one Israeli officer.

But Muir’s brief didn’t capture the intensity of the day-long bombardment. “More than 300 projectiles are motors, most are Qassam rockets, also an antitank missile took out a bus, seriously injuring an Israeli soldier,” reported correspondent Trey Yingst during Fox News Channel’s Special Report.

“As funerals took place for the Palestinians killed in the Israeli air strikes, there was a brief calm along the Israel/Gaza border,” Yingst continued. “But just two hours later, chaos ensued as residents in southern Israel rushed to shelters to avoid further rocket fire from Gaza that ultimately struck multiple homes and businesses.”

And according to The Times of Israel, “A man was killed and two women were seriously injured after a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip scored a direct hit on an apartment building in Ashkelon.…The man, in his 40s, was found dead under debris after an apartment building had been hit by a missile fired from Gaza shortly after midnight”.

Again, what the high school kids did was dumb and demonstrated poor judgment, but it really doesn't stack up to the rocket attacks by a group that wants to wipe out the Jewish state of Israel.

TREY YINGST: Israel is being bombarded. Rockets fired from the Gaza Strip sore through the air before many were intercepted by Israel's missile defense system, the Iron Dome. More than 300 projectiles are motors, most are Qassam rockets, also an antitank missile took out a bus, seriously injuring an Israeli soldier.

The escalation along the Israel/Gaza border erupted after a failed Israeli operation inside Gaza Sunday night that left seven Palestinian militants and one Israeli soldier dead. Reports indicate that the operation was meant to gather intelligence but went array when the undercover elite IDF unit was exposed at a Hamas checkpoint leading to a gun battle. One Gaza resident describes the scene as the Israeli air force provided cover for the IDF soldiers as they escape Gaza.

GAZA RESIDENT (via translator): I saw explosions and lights. Then I saw a helicopter. The helicopter came down in this area here. It was less than 7-8 minutes. Then it took off again and left. After it took off, the Israeli army struck the area. They struck the car here. And there were explosions. They struck the entire area.

YINGST: As funerals took place for the Palestinians killed in the Israeli air strikes, there was a brief calm along the Israel/Gaza border. But just two hours later, chaos ensued as residents in southern Israel rushed to shelters to avoid further rocket fire from Gaza that ultimately struck multiple homes and businesses.
