‘View’ in Disbelief Americans Unhappy With Biden, Harris: Look at All the 'Big Wins!'

November 15th, 2021 2:22 PM

The liberal View hosts were in utter disbelief today that Americans were blaming Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for a 30-year high in inflation and an out-of-control border crisis. To Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin, there was nothing the current leadership could do to improve these problems. The sycophantic hosts even suggested that the media focused too much on the negative and should spend more time touting this administration’s “big wins.”

Whoopi Goldberg scoffed at the notion Americans were unhappy with the president: “So, so, today President Biden is signing his historic and popular infrastructure bill, but apparently his poll numbers are at their lowest and his vice president is under the microscope as well!”

“What’s going on?” she asked. Joy Behar was shocked that people would blame the president for rising prices and supply chain issues.

I feel as though Joe Biden is getting the blame for things that he really doesn't have that much control over, he doesn't control gas prices, correct me if I am wrong, inflation is something that’s happening all over the world, its very much related to pandemic that we're still in, the supply, what do you call it, the supply chain is held up because of COVID, you know, yet he -- he can't go door to door to give vaccinations. He’s telling people to do it. Yet he seems to be getting all the blame because it’s on his watch.

She and Sara Haines suggested this big mess was Trump’s fault. “Blame the previous administration. Blame COVID. Blame worldwide inflation. But why blame the guy? I don’t get it!” Behar whined.

Really Joy? This is the same person who suggested Trump was personally responsible for thousands of people dying from COVID when he was in office, despite the vaccines being developed under his administration. The booming economy was a gift from Obama and every disaster from failed Democrat leadership, mass shootings or a virus was Trump’s fault. But as soon as Biden takes office and the economy tanks, now suddenly Biden isn’t at fault?

Sunny Hostin was also distraught over the media even talking about Biden’s bad news. She got the same memo Stephanie Ruhle got from the DNC to spin the economy as actually good news:

I think what's so interesting that's what we're talking about early Monday morning when today he's signing the infrastructure bill, right? There’ve been so many big wins because especially we have had, people are being vaccinated. People are getting the booster shot. The infrastructure bill just got passed. And that's a big deal.

Hostin was flummoxed over the idea that Kamala Harris would get any blame for the out of control border crisis. Despite things getting much, much worse with the new administration, Hostin argued there was nothing Harris could do and Americans should get off her back. ABC backed this notion up with their words on screen:

HOSTIN: And instead of talking about that we're talking about his approval rating and we’re especially talking about Kamala Harris's approval rating being ten points lower than his approval rating and I think that really speaks to where our country is, you know, let's come down on the woman. Who happens to be the first female vice president that we have ever had in this country's history which is ridiculous that it's first woman that we've had but incredible and I think the reason she's getting so much I guess ire from the right and from all over the country is because not only is she's woman she's been given these tasks that are just, you know, what is she supposed to do with immigration? What is she supposed to do with that?

BEHAR: I don’t remember Pence getting this kind of critical [press coverage]

Whoopi called on the public to not listen to polls or the media but instead look at what Biden’s done. “He's been there less than a year. Think about what he's done, think about where we came from, think about what he's done!,” she insisted. Uh, they already have. You don’t have to pay attention to politics to see it costs much more money to fill up your gas tank than it did last year.

Clearly The View hosts live in their own bubble. They griped again at the media being too hard on the administration. Calling Harris’s trip to France, “wonderful,” Behar and Hostin fawned, “They loved her!”

“Why aren’t we talking about that?” Hostin sighed.

While guest host Tara Setmayer boasted, “This is called president-ing. This is what you do. He’s president-ing. Like adulting? This is what actual governing looks like in the real world!”

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: So, so, today President Biden is signing his historic and popular infrastructure bill, but parentally his poll numbers are at their lowest and his vice president is under the microscope as well, the White House just defended her against reports that there’s infighting and frustrations about her performance and they're all on the same team. So what is happening here? What's going on?

JOY BEHAR: I feel as though Joe Biden is getting the blame for things that he really doesn't have that much control over, he doesn't control gas prices, correct me if I am wrong, inflation is something that’s happening all over the world, its very much related to pandemic that we're still in, the supply, what do you call it, the supply chain is held up because of covid, you know, yet he -- he can't go door to door to give vaccinations. He’s telling people to do it. Yet he seems to be getting all the blame because its on his watch.

SARA HAINES: He has to fix something that's already divided. You can't sew that back together. It was handed to him politicized.

BEHAR: Yeah but he's getting the blame for it.  Blame the previous administration. Blame covid. Blame worldwide inflation. But why blame the guy? I don’t get it.

TARA SETMAYER:....[T]here are there things he can do, yes, they open the supply chain, with policies there, you know, unplug, the backup is part of the problem, but that's also inherited from the Trump administration. But if you have to explain all of this you're losing. And people don’t have attention spans to go through all that. Republicans exploit this really well. They're masters at consolidating things into a bumper sticker and manufacturing outrage. So It's Biden's fault. He's Jimmy Carter. Biden and his team they must get tougher on this and fight back to explain what he's doing to help the American people.

SUNNY HOSTIN: I think what's so interesting that's what we're talking about early Monday morning when today he's signing the infrastructure bill, right? There’ve been so many big wins because especially we have had, people are being vaccinated. People are getting the booster shot. The infrastructure bill just got passed. And that's a big deal.

And Instead of talking about that we're talking about his approval rating and we’re especially talking about Kamala Harris's approval rating being ten points lower than his approval rating and I think that really speaks to where our country is, you know, let's come down on the woman.

SETMAYER:….[W]ith all due respect to Kamala Harris and the history she made. There are certain things that she's done that, you know, trying to kind of figure her way out in the job that hasn't helped the situation. I think 28% disapproval isn't just the right, so you know, when you run your campaign, there’s an old adage in politics, you can get an idea of how someone will govern based on how they ran their campaign. And there were some issues even in her campaign that seem to have translated over into the management style in the VP’s office.

People like the palace intrigue. It's a good story. ...She’s in a tough spot. They inherited a tough problem.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG:... I'm going to say it quick, I think the bottom line is really simple, if you want to know what's going on don't wait for the polls to tell you. Don't wait for the television talking heads to say, oh, this is what's going on to happen. He's been there less than a year. Think about what he's done, think about where we came from, think about what he's done, you don't see him around because this actually, this guy's actually working, he's actually working. You don't see a lot of Kamala Harris, because whether we like the outcome of the things she’s doing, she's doing something.

SUNNY HOSTIN: She came back from France and it was a wonderful trip!

JOY BEHAR: They loved her.

HOSTIN: They loved her there. Why aren’t we talking about that?

SETMAYER: This is called presidenting. This is what you do. He’s presidenting. Like adulting? This is what actual governing looks like in the real world.
