This is TERRORISM! MSNBC Lashes Out at Tuberville Fighting Military Wokeness

August 8th, 2023 6:29 PM

On MSNBC's Deadline: White House, frequent guest Jason Johnson lashed out at Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville for his efforts to fight woke ideology in the United States military by putting a hold on military promotions as a bargaining chip to force Senate Democrats and the Biden administration to come to the negotiating table. According to Johnson, this amounted to "legislative terrorism." Never mind the fact that allowing the military to spend more time on transgender ideology or paying for abortion travel for American service members is really putting our national security at risk.

Filling in for host Nicolle Wallace was Alicia Menendez, the daughter of corrupt New Jersey Democrat Senator Bob Menendez. She kicked off this portion of the segment by reading an opinion piece trashing the Senator: "Tuberville a former college football coach who has no expertise in the military or reproductive health. Who has no skin in the game other than being a run-of-the-mill anti-abortion right-winger decided to take a stand and now more than 300 military promotions have been held up because of him."

Once Menendez asked him for his thoughts, Johnson went off the deep end. "This is terrorism!" Johnson wailed. "I keep telling people this is legislative terrorism," he specified.

He huffed that "one senator is endangering the national security of our country and our allies for ideological reasons. He is putting people in positions where they can die. Not just the people who won't have access to health care, but our military services around the world that don't just defend our people, but defend our allies are now in danger because of one person."

He never explained how exactly this is the case.

Johnson then tried to blame the entire Republican Party for the alleged actions of one Senator: "It is the entire Republican organization because if this actually mattered to them, if they cared about this country if they cared about our safety," then Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell would stop Tuberville, according to Johnson.

"But none are saying anything because they don't really care about America," he falsely proclaimed.

MSNBC’s Deadline: White House
8/8/2023
5:28:00 p.m. Eastern

ALICIA MENENDEZ: Tuberville a former college football coach who has no expertise in the military or reproductive health. Who has no skin in the game other than being a run-of-the-mill anti-abortion right-winger decided to take a stand and now more than 300 military promotions have been held up because of him. I saw your gesture as I was reading that. Tell me what you think.

JASON JOHNSON: This is terrorism.

ALLISON JASLOW: To me or Jason?

JOHNSON: I keep telling people this is legislative terrorism. Okay? This guy, Tuberville, one senator, is endangering the national security of our country and our allies for ideological reasons. He is putting people in positions where they can die. Not just the people who won't have access to health care, but our military services around the world that don't just defend our people, but defend our allies are now in danger because of one person. And it's not just one person as far as Tuberville and his particular ideology. It is the entire Republican organization because if this actually mattered to them, if they cared about this country, if they cared about our safety then every other word out of Mitch McConnell's mouth would be, and, by the way, Tommy Tuberville, you know, get off the chair, you got to do something here, you're harming all of us. Then Ted Cruz would be saying something, then Josh Hawley, but none are saying anything because they don't really care about America. So it’s disappointing, I hope the Democrats see this as an opportunity not just for campaign purposes but to talk about possibly changing some of the rules in how the Senate operates because he's endangering the country for an organization that is no longer committed to national security.
