Oh, But We’re Anti-Science? Climate Change Zealots Harrelson, Cusack Push Crackpot ‘5G’ Theory

Isn't it hilarious to find out that some of the rich and famous folks who look down on you for not believing in “science” also peddle absolutely insane conspiracy theories that put people at risk?

A couple of the big name Hollywood types who insist that capitalism-driven climate change is killing the planet and that climate change-denying conservatives are dangerously ignoring science, are dangerously ignoring science by pushing a wacky conspiracy theory that new high speed internet towers, not coronavirus, are causing this pandemic.

Both Zombieland actor Woody Harrelson and High Fidelity star John Cusack are the latest enlistees in the tin-foil hat brigade, pushing the theory that “the novel coronavirus can be transmitted through 5G or that 5G suppresses the immune system,” as tech site The Verge describes the conspiracy.

Wow that’s as insane as President Donald Trump saying that “windmills cause cancer,” the only difference being that Trump was freaking joking!

Harrelson, a Hollywood A-Lister with huge social media reach, made an Instagram post pushing the crackpot theory to his 2 million-plus followers. According to the New York Post and a Washington state NBC affiliate (which has screenshots of Harrelson’s recently-deleted post,) the actor posted images of Chinese people tearing down 5G broadcast towers and a Washington State University paper linking 5G to coronavirus.

Harrelson captioned the posts, writing, “Meanwhile the Chinese are bringing 5G antennas down,” and “I haven’t fully vetted it I find it very interesting.” According to the New York Post one of the posts received around “25,000 likes” and the other -- a video -- was viewed “more than 300,000 times.”

In a recently-deleted tweet, Hollywood Bernie Bro John Cusack wrote that “5 – G wil [sic] be proven to be very very bad for people’s health.” On Tuesday April 7, Cusack tweeted,“I got sources in scientific community – and medical.” He called critics “just DUMB” and “ f—ing Sheep.” Sure, well where’s the tweet, John?

Of course The Verge put the kibosh on these hare-brained, stupid theories, pointing out that “the virus is spreading in countries without access to 5G, the frequencies from 5G can’t harm your body, and COVID-19 is caused by a contagious virus that is in no way related to electromagnetic wave.” Even FEMA has stated on their official site, “5G technology does NOT cause coronavirus.”

The real question here however, is how could these gentlemen -- gentlemen of SCIENCE! -- get caught up in such rubbish? Both Harrelson and Cusack are devotees to Hollywood’s climate change agenda. In a recent climate agenda-driven video with pop-star Billie Eilish, Woody Harrelson claimed that we are dealing with a “climate emergency” and stated that climate zealots must “take back power” from the climate-deniers.

During a Bernie Sanders rally in January, Cusack claimed, “We have a 10-to-12-year window to radically transform our energy systems, or climate change, predatory capitalism, and endless war economies will rob us of the right to any future at all.”

Cusack added that it’s the “truth.” And as we all know, deranged lefties like Harrelson and Cusack would call us dangerous science deniers for being even a tad skeptical. Though when the news is reporting that vandals in the UK and China are tearing down cell phone towers because of insane conspiracies pushed by these actors, it’s obvious whose ideas manifest real life danger.
