LIFE WINS! Soros-Funded Groups Lose Their Minds Over Abortion Defeat

The 49-year reign of Roe v. Wade has come to an end. But far left groups funded by liberal billionaire George Soros lost their collective minds after the U.S. Supreme Court announced the end to federally-sanctioned abortions.

George SorosSoros-funded groups did not hold back their disappointment with the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson launched into a verbal tirade against the Court’s decision on MSNBC, calling it “absolutely devastating.” Planned Parenthood shared a link to AbortionFinder.org and renewed its pledge to fight for increased abortions to its over 331,000 Twitter followers. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) tweeted: “We won't deny what a horrible moment this is.” And MoveOn.org put pressure on Congress and states to protect what the left calls a “right” to an abortion on Twitter. [Emphasis added].

Every one of these groups were funded with Soros money or have close ties to political action committees that have been.

Johnson attacked the Supreme Court for placing an “extra burden” on women seeking abortions. “The Court just told us that we are not equal. The Court just told us that we don’t have a right in the Constitution to control our own bodies, and I can’t think of anything more enraging, more absurd, more insane than overturning nearly 50 years of precedent of our ability to control our own bodies.” Soros’s Open Society Institute gave at least $19,347,418 to Planned Parenthood Federation of America between 2004 and 2019, according to Foundation Directory Online records

And Johnson didn’t stop there: “It is absolutely, uh, horrifying, and all I can think about is the millions of the people that are going to be affected, millions of people that, you know, we’ve seen as patients at Planned Parenthood. Many other independent providers out there who are catching tears right now from their patients, knowing that they won’t be able to provide the care that they need. It is absolutely devastating.”

Planned Parenthood also claimed in a tweet: “We know you may be feeling a lot of things right now — hurt, anger, confusion. Whatever you feel is OK. We’re here with you — and we’ll never stop fighting for you.” It further encouraged in a subsequent tweet: “If you need an abortion, help is available to make sure you get the care you need. Call 1-800-230-PLAN or visit http://AbortionFinder.org.”

Not to be outdone, The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), funded by Soros to the tune of a whopping $37,359,845 from 2000-2014, tweeted its own screed: “BREAKING: The Supreme Court just reversed nearly 50 years of precedent and overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the federal constitutional right to abortion. We won't deny what a horrible moment this is. Half of the states are expected to ban abortion.” [Emphasis added]. The group has fought for increased access to abortion and “unfettered illegal immigration,” according to Influence Watch.

Another Soros-affiliated leftist group, MoveOn.org, complained about the decision on Twitter: “We are devastated. The Supreme Court's conservative justices’ awful decision to overturn Roe now means millions of people are at risk of losing abortion access in their states. It's now on Congress & governors to protect abortion access. We will not stop fighting.”

Soros gave MoveOn.org Civic Action $724,995 between 2016 and 2020 according to Open Society Foundations records

Soros has supported groups closely associated with Planned Parenthood for years. The leftist billionaire gave a massive $14,150,000 to Planned Parenthood Action Fund from 2017 to 2020, according to Open Society Foundations records. And Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show that the Soros super PAC — Democracy PAC — gave at least $2,545,454.55 to Planned Parenthood Votes.
