On Thursday, both NBC’s Today and CBS This Morning hyped an effort by Democrats to provide “smoking gun” evidence that former Secretary of State Colin Powell was to blame for Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal. Reporters on the morning shows dutifully used the story to distract from Clinton being hammered over the scandal during Wednesday’s Commander-in-Chief Forum.

Those oh-so-objective journalists at the New York Times went after a fellow journalist, NBC’s Today show host Matt Lauer, for being unfair to Hillary Clinton and not sufficiently attacking Donald Trump, both during and after the MSNBC/NBC Commander in Chief Forum Wednesday night. After 278 days of dodging reporters and ignoring their questions, Hillary Clinton on Thursday finally submitted to a press conference. One would assume that there would be plenty of tough follow-ups on her e-mail scandal. Yet, that subject never came up. Instead, reporters fed her queries on sexism, double standards against her campaign and the size of her lead.

Just as predicted, MSNBC did its best to draw attention away from the grilling Hillary Clinton received about her e-mail scandal on Wednesday night at their Commander in Chief Forum in their analysis on The Last Word by spinning her portion as a “very strong performance” and spent little time rehashing it in favor of trashing Trump discussing his intelligence briefings. 

Looking at the history of NBC’s Today co-host Matt Lauer leading into Wednesday night’s MSNBC/NBC Commander in Chief Forum, one would conclude that he’d be anything but netural compared to some of his colleagues for impartial questioning both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, but he brought the heat early on in Clinton’s portion about her e-mail scandal that left Clinton on the defensive.

The Obama administration’s recent expenditure of tens of millions of dollars to spur immigrants to become citizens and vote this November isn’t the only evidence that taxpayer funds are possibly being used to favor the election of Hillary Clinton.
