A bizarre “Eye on America” segment on the beleaguered CBS Evening News left reasonable viewers wondering whether they drifted off to Castro’s Cuba or the former East Germany. The term “regime media”, mockingly bestowed upon the legacies when Democrats are in power, just got disturbingly real.

There was no shortage of white guilt TV over the Labor Day weekend. CBS Sports aired a five-hour program on racism and society, titled "Portraits In Black" on Sunday afternoon. ESPN's College GameDay program on Saturday went heavy on social justice, too.

Amidst all the bad news and the rising death toll of this global pandemic, Christians are still marking Holy Week and preparing for Easter. It’s not often, however, that such aspects of faith are explored on network television, even during normal circumstances. So it was refreshing to see CBS This Morning on Monday focus on two preachers “spreading the Gospel during this pandemic.”

Now there’s something you don’t see very often. CBS This Morning on Monday highlighted a Christian evangelist who is spreading the faith to Muslim countries. Co-host Charlie Rose introduced, “An unassuming 86-year-old evangelist is sharing a message of healing around the world. She's traveled for years to several predominantly Muslim countries to spread the Gospel.”

Released on Friday morning, the latest jobs report from the Labor Department touted a net growth of 209,000 jobs in July. On Friday evening, the report was promoted on all three of the major broadcast networks, ranging from news briefs by ABC and NBC to a full report from CBS.
