On Monday morning, the White House correspondents on ABC, CBS, and NBC all eagerly played the role of unofficial Biden press aides by touting his Sunday night address to the nation as a plea to use the attempted assassination of Donald Trump as “an urgent plea...to cool down the political temperatures” and a task for Americans “to unite” by “restor[ing] civility”. 

On Saturday following the attempted assassination of former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, CBS was out of control in demanding Republicans be the ones to lower the proverbial temperature and alter their rhetoric to soothe our collective body politic.
