Next year marks the 20th anniversary of the sci-fi movie classic “The Matrix,” which depicts powerful machines attempting to subdue the human race. Sometimes art imitates life, and sometimes it’s the other way around. On occasion, art can be prophetic. “The Matrix” is such a film. It warns of a future in which the power and worth of the individual is subsumed into one giant interconnected world run by a tiny elite, who rob individuals of their liberty and ability to think freely.
Saturday, the New York Times published an article about the future of commercial space travel. Detailing the business plans and operations of Axiom Space, Featured Story Writer Sheila Marikar took the opportunity to toss in a couple of insults directed at the uber-wealthy.
A Net Neutrality-free Internet – is the Internet status quo. It’s “The Internet as we know it.”
Everything you knew about the Internet the first two-plus decades – is what you know about the Internet now.
Everything else being flung at you by the Media-Left – is just ideological monkey poo.
Android users who installed Facebook’s Messenger app on their devices may have had their call and text histories logged for approximately two years, according to a report in Ars Technica.
Ars Technica reported that the issue occurred when certain Android users downloaded Messenger in 2015. Apparently, Facebook started chronicling information related to phone calls and text messages made from their Android devices. Users discovered the data use after they downloaded an archive of their Facebook account data.
The GOP tax cuts scored yet another win on Wednesday when tech giant Apple cited the cuts as a driving factor for their newly announced plans to build a new campus, create 20,000 new jobs, and invest $350 billion in the U.S. economy among other exciting announcements. But despite the great news, NBC Nightly News and Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo failed to cover the story at all while CBS Evening News left out their praise for the tax cuts.
The Left is incessantly freaking about all sorts of things - about which very little freaking is actually necessary. The Media is - by-and-large - the Left’s megaphone. About whatever the Left is freaking - you’ll find the Media freaking. Only louder, with many, MANY more outlets with which to amplify the freaking. The advent of the Internet - has exponentially increased the number of outlets through which the Media can freak.
Conservatives who’ve rallied behind former Google engineer James Damore traditionally have undermined workers like him, contended The New Republic’s Josephine Livingstone on Wednesday. Livingstone has no use for Damore’s now-famous, if little-read, memo, which allegedly “contained a bunch of ‘red-pill’ nonsense about biological differences between men and women,” but she also claimed that the right typically objects to certain protections for fired employees like Damore.
The Internet is a wondrous free speech-free market Xanadu. It has revolutionized an incalculable number of things. Life is better, stronger, faster - easier. But like any other tool - a gun, hammer or shovel, for instance - the Internet can be used for things both good…and ill. Which brings us to the legacy media - the Jurassic Press.
of the very many things that has been hammered home in the President Donald Trump era - is that if the media wants to make a non-story a story, they certainly can. At least for them and theirs. No matter how ridiculous and fact-free the tale. It can be patently obvious that the “A” they are selling is actually “Not A” - but that matters not. The media floods the zone with it, and that’s all we get.
The Washington Post is a legacy, old school fake news outlet. Aside from the New York Times, no newspaper carries more national clout.
Largely because of how much they forty-plus years ago made of a third-rate burglary by a Republican presidential campaign on its way to winning forty-nine states. (Had Republicans not broken into the Democrats’ Watergate headquarters, they’d have won, what…forty-three states?)
There were about a half dozen Barack Obama Administration scandals that were each exponentially worse than Watergate - about which the Washington Post couldn't have cared less. Worse, the Post provided all sorts of cover-up “coverage” of these monstrosities - routinely, incessantly defending the indefensible.
The New York Times is simply a ridiculous publication. And has been for decades. It is hopelessly, blindly, willfully Leftist. And has been for decades. And to advance their Leftism, they have lied and lied again and again. For decades.
Just yesterday, their Editors en toto wrote about the Bernie Sanders supporter who went Republican hunting in Alexandria, Virginia - firing more than fifty rifle shots at GOP Congressmen and staffers on a baseball diamond. Included in that piece was the following:
Our recurring joke - that is itself a ceaselessly recurring joke - is when we mention the “Media-Left,” we always follow it with “please pardon the redundancy.” The Media-Left merger is now seamless. I could hand you a New York Times article and a Daily Kos article - and you would be hard pressed to determine which is which (aside from the latter’s propensity for profanity).
As Rush Limbaugh repeatedly points out - the Media are the horse, the Left merely the cart the Media drags along behind. And the Democrat Party is the inert, inept product in the cart - dragged along by both.
