Conservatives who’ve rallied behind former Google engineer James Damore traditionally have undermined workers like him, contended The New Republic’s Josephine Livingstone on Wednesday. Livingstone has no use for Damore’s now-famous, if little-read, memo, which allegedly “contained a bunch of ‘red-pill’ nonsense about biological differences between men and women,” but she also claimed that the right typically objects to certain protections for fired employees like Damore.
The Internet is a wondrous free speech-free market Xanadu. It has revolutionized an incalculable number of things. Life is better, stronger, faster - easier. But like any other tool - a gun, hammer or shovel, for instance - the Internet can be used for things both good…and ill. Which brings us to the legacy media - the Jurassic Press.
of the very many things that has been hammered home in the President Donald Trump era - is that if the media wants to make a non-story a story, they certainly can. At least for them and theirs. No matter how ridiculous and fact-free the tale. It can be patently obvious that the “A” they are selling is actually “Not A” - but that matters not. The media floods the zone with it, and that’s all we get.
The Washington Post is a legacy, old school fake news outlet. Aside from the New York Times, no newspaper carries more national clout.
Largely because of how much they forty-plus years ago made of a third-rate burglary by a Republican presidential campaign on its way to winning forty-nine states. (Had Republicans not broken into the Democrats’ Watergate headquarters, they’d have won, what…forty-three states?)
There were about a half dozen Barack Obama Administration scandals that were each exponentially worse than Watergate - about which the Washington Post couldn't have cared less. Worse, the Post provided all sorts of cover-up “coverage” of these monstrosities - routinely, incessantly defending the indefensible.
The New York Times is simply a ridiculous publication. And has been for decades. It is hopelessly, blindly, willfully Leftist. And has been for decades. And to advance their Leftism, they have lied and lied again and again. For decades.
Just yesterday, their Editors en toto wrote about the Bernie Sanders supporter who went Republican hunting in Alexandria, Virginia - firing more than fifty rifle shots at GOP Congressmen and staffers on a baseball diamond. Included in that piece was the following:
Our recurring joke - that is itself a ceaselessly recurring joke - is when we mention the “Media-Left,” we always follow it with “please pardon the redundancy.” The Media-Left merger is now seamless. I could hand you a New York Times article and a Daily Kos article - and you would be hard pressed to determine which is which (aside from the latter’s propensity for profanity).
As Rush Limbaugh repeatedly points out - the Media are the horse, the Left merely the cart the Media drags along behind. And the Democrat Party is the inert, inept product in the cart - dragged along by both.
Media bias…is not a new thing.
One of Rage Against the Machine’s big hits was “Bulls on Parade.” Were anyone to pen a tune about the media -- “Lemmings on Parade” as a title would eminently work.
It’s always sadly amusing to watch America’s media march as one - in one direction after another. To even the average observer, it would appear that they all receive the exact same issues to cover - and the exact same talking points with which to cover them.
The examples of this are at this point nigh limitless. Talk radio impresario Rush Limbaugh has for years compiled his Media Montages - audio cavalcades of talking heads spouting identical words to describe the same stories.
The media remain steadfast in their opposition to now-President-elect Donald Trump. In their attempts to deny him first the office and now legitimacy therein, they have come up with all sorts of shorthand descriptives that are either vague or outright disingenuous.
One of the most annoying of these - is “Donald Trump is anti-(free) trade.”
Andrew Ross Sorkin is considered a financial guru - a savant of all things business. So how is he so very, very wrong about government teat specialist Elon Musk?: “Donald Trump: Please think about calling Elon Musk….Mr. Musk…(is) the real-life Tony Stark behind Tesla, the electric car company; SolarCity, the solar power provider; and SpaceX, the rocket company….”
Actually, Elon Musk isn’t the Tony Stark of anything. And the only person behind Tesla and Solar City is a government bureaucrat - writing Musk yet another government check.
It’s almost as if “Net Neutrality” is a Leftist safe word - to be uttered when the free market growing freely causes them too much discomfort.
Few things demonstrate the insular Media-Government Bubble better than this:
The American media cabal is…ridiculous. They are the Borg of politics - many entities, but of but one Leftist mind. Led around by their noses by whatever hack government-growing politician is before them at that moment.
Just as they calmly repeated the "ventriloquized" Obama line on the Iran deal, so they're doing with the latest ruling on "Net neutrality."
