Less than 24 hours before President Barack Obama came out to endorse Hillary Clinton for president, MSNBC host Chris Matthews ended Wednesday night’s Hardball by complaining that the American people (and presumably the media too) didn’t spend enough time on Tuesday “salut[ing]” Clinton for what she’s “accomplished in this historic struggle” for women’s rights.

The cable networks ran a full-court press in covering President Obama’s endorsement on Thursday afternoon of Hillary Clinton with MSNBC giving Brian Williams the keys to the network for a few hours and, in the first 10 minutes, he seemed to blame talk radio for not reminding voters of Donald Trump’s birtherim enough that was, in his words, an “original sin.”

Journalists on NBC and CBS appeared excited over a possible endorsement of Hillary Clinton from “progressive champion” Elizabeth Warren. Both on Thursday made sure to highlight angry attacks by Warren on Donald Trump. Today reporter Kristen Welker cheered, “As the President starts that healing process, Clinton is poised for a big endorsement.”
