Donald Trump Jr.
Soon after former Trump attorney Michael Cohen testified in front of the House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday, a panel of commentators on CNN surprised viewers by contradicting the disbarred lawyer’s claim that he never wanted a post in the White House. Cohen’s troubles began when Dana Bash, the chief political correspondent for the liberal channel, pointed out that he was “not the perfect messenger” to attack Trump because of “one potential problem” contradicting CNN’s reports on the matter.
Tuesday night on the Fox News Channel, Donald Trump Jr. and Fox News host Tucker Carlson went off on how ‘woke capitalism’ may doom the American people — especially thanks to tech companies. Carlson and Don Jr. are both wary of big tech, and warn it is no ally to conservatives despite benefitting from the free market. In an appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, Don Jr. stressed that Republicans need to learn from his father’s playbook, “I think we have to start pushing back and I think we have to start pushing back hard,” he said. “If we don’t, we’ll never get the chance again.”
If anyone should be able to detect a gigantic hoax, it’s Al Sharpton, who was catapulted into the national spotlight in the 1980s while defending black teenager Tawana Brawley in what turned out to be false claims she was raped by four white men. When the news broke in the past several days about Jussie Smollett supposedly being attacked by two masked men in Chicago yelling racial and anti-gay slurs, Sharpton was immediate in his support for the gay black actor: “We’re with you, Jussie.” However, after it was revealed that Smollett and the two other black men had perpetrated a hoax, the MSNBC host responded that the persons involved “ought to face accountability to the maximum.”
Caleb Howe at Mediaite smacked MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Monday for obscuring the breaking bad news for liberals: Donald Trump Jr. did not call his father, but business associates, about his meeting with Russians at Trump Tower. When the facts broke on Thursday, Chris Hayes reported it...and then Maddow would only say "I don't want to try to be any more specific" than ABC or CNN. They were far more specific than she was.
One can only wonder at this point. Does the liberal media have any idea - any idea at all - as to how much they are damaging their own credibility? The latest case in point: the phone calls Donald Trump Jr. made in the wake of the now-famous Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer in 2016. Samples include stories like this from 2018:
For Telemundo and the rest of the liberal media, there is apparently only one way to interpret statements by Donald Trump, Jr. in support of his father’s policies: the worst possible way. That was certainly the case following President Trump’s Oval Office speech on the need for building additional wall on the nation’s southern border. In a combination one-two anti-Trump punch, Telemundo anchor José Díaz-Balart blasted President Trump for “openly attacking immigrants” in the speech.
MSNBC host Joy Reid and guest Elie Mystal on Saturday openly connived about the best way to "get to" Trump. They concluded that it would be to "go after" Ivanka. Gloated Mystal: "this is the first time that we have Ivanka . . . in the crosshairs . . . The only way we're really going to get to Trump is if you go after his kids . . . And this [going after Ivanka] could be the way to do it."
Mollie Hemingway at The Federalist hammered National Public Radio for a false online report claiming that Donald Trump Jr.’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in September 2017 conflicted with an account given by former Trump attorney Michael Cohen. Five hours later, NPR posted an editor's note that they had "mischaracterized" the answers from the president's son.
On Sunday evening's CNN Newsroom, during a segment with liberal CNN contributor Marc Lamont Hill, host Ana Cabrera wrongly claimed that President Donald Trump had lamented that it is a scary time for "white men" when in reality his actual quote did not mention race at all but referred to "young men."
During Wednesday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, the eponymous host lamented the fact that the ABC program The View has “recently warped from a breezy daytime show into a font of deranged propaganda.” Carlson had previously played a clip of View co-host Whoopi Goldberg saying that Donald Trump Jr. should only fear for his son in the wake of the Kavanaugh mass hysteria if he thinks his son “has these tendencies,” adding “If your child is not someone who is assaulting people, it shouldn’t be a concern for you.”
During an exclusive interview with Donald Trump Jr. aired on Tuesday’s Good Morning America, ABC News correspondent Tara Palmeri was ready to convict the President’s eldest son of an unspecified crime. She touted him being “under the microscope” in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and asked Trump Jr.: “Are you scared that you could go to jail?”
While the networks have been obsessed with alleged Russian interference to aid Donald Trump in the 2016 campaign they have – so far – completely ignored a bombshell report that a Google employee tried to help Hillary Clinton win.
