Thursday’s Hardball featured MSNBC host Chris Matthews continuing his now-permanent campaign to impeach President Trump by repeating the tiresome phrase about how the Trump administration has placed America “dangerously close to a constitutional crisis,” but he went further this time. How? Well, he showed a new level of desperation by bashing his congressional Democrats as a “paper tiger” afraid to impeach the President.
The co-hosts of CBS This Morning on Friday eagerly plotted strategy with 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar. They also helpfully ignored the reports that the Senator is an abusive boss who treats people terribly. Speaking of Attorney General William Barr and the Mueller report, Norah O’Donnell marveled, “You heard the Speaker of the House accuse the attorney general of a crime. What's the remedy?”
Poor Alisyn Camerota. She had so been hoping that the Mueller report would bring President Trump crashing down. And now that it seems very unlikely that will happen, Alisyn is deeply bummed. Or, as Camerota put it this morning "they've broken my spirit," adding that the lack of action against President Trump is "disheartening."
No one doubts that the liberal media sees itself as an active arm of the Democrat party. But MSNBC's Yasmin Vossoughian has now provided an absolutely brazen example of the phenomenon. Vossoughian subbed for Ari Melber on his MSNBC show The Beat. Interviewing ultraliberal Rep. Jamie Raskin, Vossoughian three times asked Raskin which was the best way that "we" should go after Attorney General Bill Barr and/or the Mueller report and testimony by Mueller.
On Wednesday's The 11th Hour with Brian Williams on MSNBC, during a discussion of Fox News reaction to Attorney General Bill Barr's testimony on the Mueller report, John Heilemann derided FNC host Sean Hannity as a "steaming, hot pile of Hannity" who is as "happy as a pig in ****" as the MSNBC national affairs analyst seemed annoyed at having to react to the conservative Fox News host's commentary.
After his hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, congressional Democrats and the liberal media were in sync as they accused Attorney General William Barr of lying to Congress. During Thursday’s evening newscasts, ABC and CBS seemed excited by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) standing before the press and calling Barr a criminal.
During a two-minute monologue on MSNBC’s Deadline: White House Wednesday, NBC News National Affairs Analyst John Heilemann trashed Attorney General Bill Barr and suggested that he should be impeached. Heilemann frequently referenced a New York Times op-ed written by former FBI Director James Comey, where he slammed Barr; holding him up as a once-respected public figure corrupted by President Trump, whom Comey alleges “eats your soul in small bites.”
The journalists on CBS This Morning, Thursday, were excited by the Democratic grilling of Attorney General William Barr. After speculating about whether Barr would be held in contempt of Congress, analyst Rikki Klieman praised Klobuchar’s attacks on the AG as very effective: “I thought Amy Klobuchar gets an A-plus because she had a goal in her questions and she got to it.”
The View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin practically put their hands over their ears after Abby Huntsman and Meghan McCain referenced scandals that happened under Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, during a conversation on Bill Barr’s testimony yesterday. Whoopi was so desperate to avoid comparisons to the previous administration that she even fabricated something that never happened just to defend the Obama administration.
On three separate occasions during Attorney General William Barr’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, MSNBC interrupted its live, supposedly “gavel-to-gavel” coverage of the hearing. The one thing all those moments had in common was that Republican lawmakers were the ones talking when anchor Brian Williams chose to cut them off to “correct the record.”
On Morning Joe, after saying that he understands that it doesn't make "political sense" to impeach President Trump, Joe Scarborough calls for the impeachment of Attorney General William Barr, calling him Trump's "lackey" and "stooge."
The hosts of ABC’s The View predictably went nuts Wednesday following Bill Barr’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. While tearing into Barr for allegedly “lying,” the hosts had sudden concern for ethics at the DOJ, and eagerly hoped the Attorney General would go to prison for “obstructing justice” and trying to conduct a “coup.”
