For the last three years, we have heard nonstop from the left about how Donald Trump is undermining America by questioning the intelligence community’s assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. Some criticism of the President was warranted, but, over the last 48 hours, Democrats and their liberal media allies have gone out of their way to question U.S. intelligence showing that Iran was responsible for attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
Having decided that a new life goal is to lobby for the impeachment of President Trump, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews also made clear over the last week that another objective is to make clear to guests and viewers that Trump’s an illegitimate President because he “won a fluke election” with “Russian help” and that Democrats need “a cheering section.”
Now that the liberal media have had a few weeks since Attorney General Bill Barr’s March 24 letter on the Mueller report, liberal journalists and pundits have returned to insisting that Trump-Russian collusion still took place and it affected voters and thus rendered Trump an illegitimate President. Not surprisingly, that nonsense was alive and well on Thursday’s Hardball.
Tuesday’s Hardball saw an opening panel led by host Chris Matthews that showed the desperation of the liberal media following Attorney General Bill Barr’s Sunday letter on the main conclusions of the Mueller report. In roughly 15 minutes, they peddling conspiracy theories that this rollout was conceived of sometime ago, that Barr was picked solely to save Trump, and that America’s now a “crazy country” because it elected Trump.
Though not as hyperbolic or inconsolable as CNN and MSNBC were earlier in the day, Thursday’s Hardball still featured host Chris Matthews revolting over the President’s last-minute decision to cancel Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s overseas trip, dubbing it a “cheap shot” letter that “doesn’t look good for the country.” Beyond that, Matthews speculated without evidence about what would happen “if something goes wrong” with government workers furloughed and stressed.
Thursday’s lead Hardball segment offered blistering hot takes concerning the likely death of Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi with former Obama administration official Ben Rhodes suggesting that President Trump’s disdain for the press allowed for Khashoggi’s death and host Chris Matthews equating Jared Kushner to the Saudi Crown Prince.
Yes, Chris Matthews said that on Tuesday’s Hardball. And, no, it didn’t appear that Matthews realized how what he said about President Trump came across as quite the case of irony. In the A-block of his MSNBC program, Matthews wondered if the world is “about to see collusion in plain sight” by “eight-year-old” President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin even though, in Matthews’s world, Trump’s “brain soup” is “psychobabble.”
A clip of Ben Rhodes reacting with shock to Hillary Clinton's loss as chronicled in the documentary The Final Year has become a viral comedy meme on YouTube.
On the last non-advertising page of the June 18 edition of Time magazine, with a cover mocking Donald Trump imagining himself as a king, Time oozes all over the majesty of Barack Obama in an "8 Questions" interview with former Obama aide Ben Rhodes. Try these gushers: "Is his discipline made more striking by his successor?" And: "Is it surprising that someone so charismatic believed in institutions?"
Thursday’s Hardball featured MSNBC host Chris Matthews spending two separate segments sucking up to former Obama foreign policy and intelligence officials John Brennan and Ben Rhodes, complimenting the former for “know[ing] so much” and the latter for his “beautiful” new book defending his role in the far-left Obama legacy.
There isn't enough room in a single post for all of the contempt and ridicule NBC's latest hiring move deserves. The PR department at its MSNBC cable outlet waited until early Saturday morning to tweet its announcement that Ben Rhodes, the Obama administration's Deputy National Strategic Advisor for Strategic Communications, would be joining both NBC and MSNBC as a "Political Contributor." Who knew that systematically misleading and ridiculing the press while in office in the name of selling the fatally flawed Iran nuclear "deal" would be a resumé enhancer?
Remember all those hilarious 2016 election night videos? Well, the good news is that a couple of the best scenes of liberal desolation that night have remained unseen...until now. They come to us by way of "The Final Year" documentary which was intended to celebrate the Obama adminstration foreign policy team in its last year of office. The featured players are former Secretary of State John Kerry, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, former United Nations ambassador Samantha Power, and former creative writing graduate and deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes.
