Imagined conversation between the producers of MSNBC's The Weekend and George Conway.
"George, if we have you on Saturday's show to discuss the Epstein case, would you have something catchy for us?"
"Oh yeah. I've worked up an alliteration on Trump you're gonna love!"
Now, we can't vouch that such an exchange took place. But when co-host Eugene Daniels asked Conway whether President Trump would grant Jeffrey Epstein's helper Ghislaine Maxwell a pardon or clemency in return for the information she provided to Deputy AG Todd Blanche, Conway had an alliteration ready that's hard to imagine he coined on the spur of the moment.
"He's thoroughly capable of doing it. He's a moral maggot who has absolutely no capacity for shame or empathy or remorse."
But while suggesting Trump certainly might grant a pardon, Conway said that it would be "absolutely, positively insane" for Trump to do so:
"This is not going to work for Donald Trump, okay? He does this, he's pushing a big bomb to blow himself up."
This is the latest conspiracy on the Left, that Maxwell ends up getting a pardon for damaging Democrats.
Speaking of moral maggots, Conway was personally involved with one. Conway was a co-founder of the anti-Trump group, The Lincoln Project. A fellow co-founder was John Weaver. In his appearance on The Weekend, Conway expressed especial outrage that some of Epstein's victims were as young as 14.
Let's revisit the New York Times, in an article entitled " 21 Men Accuse Lincoln Project Co-Founder of Online Harassment" [emphasis added]:
"John Weaver, a longtime Republican strategist and co-founder of the prominent anti-Trump group the Lincoln Project, has for years sent unsolicited and sexually provocative messages online to young men, often while suggesting he could help them get work in politics, according to interviews with 21 men who received them.
"His solicitations included sending messages to a 14-year-old, asking questions about his body while he was still in high school and then more pointed ones after he turned 18."
Conway had denied knowing of Weaver's predations before the accusations became public. But as per Newsweek [emphasis added]:
"The response from Conway came shortly after the AP reported that in June 2020, members of the Lincoln Project's leadership became aware of at least 10 specific allegations of sexual harassment against Weaver "in writing and in subsequent phone calls"—citing multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation.
"The email and phone calls raise questions about the Lincoln Project's statement last month that it was 'shocked' when accusations surfaced publicly this year. It's also the first known suggestion that Weaver targeted a Lincoln Project staffer," the AP reported. "Despite the early warning, the group took no action against Weaver and pressed forward with its high-profile work."
Sounds pretty maggoty.

9:08 am EDTEUGENE DANIELS: Do you think that we're gonna see some kind of pardon or clemency here? Is that why Todd Blanche spent two days talking to this woman?
GEORGE CONWAY: It's the only reason I could think of why they would be doing this, is to trot something out that she says, that somehow makes him either not the subject or exonerates him in some fashion. And that's the only reason why you could think of doing it.
But it's absolutely, positively insane. Now, we know Donald Trump is not afraid to grant pardons to people he thinks helped him in some way, particularly in the testimonial way.
. . .
This went on for years. This went, 1,000 victims. Two of the women who testified -- they were girls when they were molested. Two of the victims who testified, or two of the four who testified at trial, were 14! 14-year-old girls when Epstein first had sex with them.
And Ghislaine Maxwell was right there, telling them what to do, how to do it, taking their passports away so they couldn't get off Epstein Island.
Okay, this is not going to work for Donald Trump, okay? He does this, he's pushing a big bomb to blow himself up.
But, you know, he's thoroughly capable of doing it. He's a moral maggot who has absolutely no capacity for shame or empathy or remorse. All he cares about is what he thinks will get him to the next day.
