On CNN's State of the Union, host Jake Tapper repeatedly tries to lure Tom Homan into bashing DHS Secretary Kristi Noem--but the border czar won't bite, saying, "It’s one team, one fight. I’m not going to divide this administration.”

As you may know by now, there is an ongoing environmental disaster that threatens to, well, soil our nation’s 250th birthday celebration in the Washington, D.C. metro area and beyond. A burst pipe has dumped millions of gallons of raw sewage into the Potomac River, which poses a major problem once springtime comes to the nation’s Capital.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered an address before the Munich Security Conference that was warmly received and met with rapturous applause. And if you were waiting for the Elitist Media’s Sunday shows’ analyses, you might think the speech never happened at all. 

On Sunday, CNN’s Dana Bash interviewed Maryland Governor Wes Moore (D-Md.) on State of the Union for nearly nine minutes, but she failed to ask about the Washington Free Beacon's new report on how Moore has lied for many years about his own life story.

We often accuse the Elitist Media, with a decades-long body of evidence here at the Media Research Center, of conducting themselves in a manner similar to that of progressive activists. On rare occasions, they also act as policy advisors.

The Elitist Media circled the wagons in the immediate aftermath of the indictment and arrest of former CNN anchor Don Lemon over the many civil rights violations committed in the protest-swarm of Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota on January 18th. But after the initial swarm of coverage, the Sunday political shows appeared to be hedging on Lemon.

The Elitist Media’s Sunday shows, in furtherance of preserving MInnesota’s civil unrest over interior immigration enforcement, booked Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for another round of softballs and patty-cake. With perhaps one exception, they all enabled his inflammatory rhetoric.

A great deal of media coverage of the events in Minneapolis is marred by a bad-faith framing of the events that ultimately seek to blame the ICE agent and ICE policy for the unfortunate death of Renee Nicole Good. Case in point, Jake Tapper’s interview of Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) on an extended State of the Union.

After four years of pretending President Joe Biden didn’t suffer severe cognitive decline, there appears to be a sudden desire to scrutinize every utterance made by President Donald Trump, in the hopes of finding a kernel of dementia upon which to seize. CNN’s Scott Jennings rightly called that out on today’s State of the Union panel.

The Elitist Media’s Sunday shows all ran with a significant chunk of Jeffrey Epstein slop as this week’s top story, a pivot we saw happen in real time in the aftermath of the end of the Democrat-instigated-and-prolonged government shutdown. And in midst of all that coverage was a significant and predictable omission.

Another weekend rolled through, with the elitist media doing their level best to actively avoid covering the biggest political scandal since Watergate: the weaponization of the federal government against Republicans and conservatives known as Operation Arctic Frost. Instead, the Sunday shows ran their clocks out with a mix of off-year election previews and shutdown apologia.

CNN’s Jake Tapper had on the seven-time Mr.Olympia and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to discuss partisan gerrymandering, among other topics, and got an earful when he tried to justify California’s gerrymandering referendum known as Prop 50. Tapper got a near-total recitation of Democrat partisan gerrymandering efforts in a way not normally seen on cable TV.

Another Sunday has passed, and with it another cycle of omissive bias from the major legacy media political affairs shows. Two major political stories went undiscussed- both the ongoing fallout over the Jay Jones text scandal currently roiling the Virginia gubernatorial election, and the arrest of the Red Mass bomber exactly one week ago.

The indictment of Resistance FBI Director James Comey is clearly the top news story of this weekend’s cycle. As Jake Tapper’s interview of Speaker Mike Johnson on CNN’s State of the Union demonstrates, the legacy media do not quite yet have a handle on this story.
