Early Friday, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s stooges in parliament (known as the Duma) passed a law criminalizing accurate reporting about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with a possible sentence of 15 years in jail. When it came to this actual and genuine attack on free, independent journalism, NBC’s Today omitted it from their Friday morning show.

On Tuesday evening, while previewing President Joe Biden’s upcoming State of the Union address, both CBS’s Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell and NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt worried that Russian President Vladimir Putin could potentially “upstage” Biden during his speech by launching a “deadly attack” on Ukraine. 

On his show Monday night, left-wing Late Show host Stephen Colbert was ecstatic that his executive producer Chris Licht had been tapped to become the president of CNN. He heaped praise on Licht while jokingly taking credit for having “trained the next president of CNN.”

On Monday night, all three evening newscasts hyperventilated over a report from the United Nations that allegedly claims the world will suffer grave environmental consequences if nothing is done about "climate change". 

On Monday, a former business partner of Hunter Biden named Devon Archer has been sentenced to over a year in prison for his involvement in a scheme to defraud a Native American tribe of over $60 billion in bonds. Not surprisingly, all three evening newscasts completely ignored this news of the President’s son’s business partner going to federal prison.

On the eve of President Biden’s first State of the Union address, Monday, the broadcast networks previewed his big speech and each took a different approach, with ABC lamenting that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine “forced” Biden to change his speech and CBS touting a fence around the Capitol. NBC was the outlier that showed Biden’s new terrible poll numbers from… ABC!

Joe Biden on February 25 nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to fill the vacancy of Justice Stephen Breyer. When it comes to ideological labels for Supreme Court nominees, the networks have one rule: Republican nominees are “staunch,” worrisome conservatives. Democratic picks are rarely labeled as extreme liberals.
