Mere moments into House Speaker John Boehner’s press conference on Friday discussing his resignation on October 30, the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC were quick to chastise conservative House members on Boehner’s “far right flank” that compose the “no compromise crowd” and “some grassroots conservatives who happened to be elected members of the House.”

ABC’s breaking news coverage of John Boehner’s resignation from the House included George Stephanopoulos describing the Speaker as fighting “guerrilla war” against conservatives.  Analyst Cokie Roberts on Friday lamented “But it is going to be much, much harder for President Obama to make deals with the Republicans in Congress.”

The 12th season of Grey's Anatomy has begun and my, how it is showing its age! Apparently the episode was titled “Sledgehammer” to indicate that they are going to beat us over the head with the same liberal themes all season long.

In the litany of network news coverage Thursday night on Pope Francis’s address to Congress, ABC’s World News Tonight largely stayed away from the Pope’s comments about abortion and traditional marriage by relegating them to vague references while CBS and NBC did their due diligence and mentioned them amidst their continued obsession over the Pope’s liberal positions.

In its first season, ABC’s Blackish waited until about the 6th episode before delving into any meaty topics of political/social controversy. In their second season, they’ve taken a slightly different approach. The “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC all failed to cover on Tuesday night a new chapter in the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal concerning the reason she turned over her work-related e-mails while CBS also neglected to tell their viewers that Clinton finally came out against the Keystone XL oil pipeline after pressure from liberals and environmentalists.

On Monday, The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg got very heated in her defense of Planned Parenthood and attacked those in Congress who want to deny federal funds to the abortion giant by telling them to "get out of my vagina."  This might underline why men click the channel quickly past this show. 

The hosts of The View on Tuesday ranted about Catholicism, the Pope and his visit to America. Whoopi Goldberg, offering her thoughts on the faith, complained about Pope Francis ciscussing abortion: “Well, there's nothing in the Book that says anything about abortion. Let's make sure of that. The Ten Commandments are the Ten Commandments. There's only ten.”

On Monday, ABC’s World News Tonight and the CBS Evening News failed to devote a full story to Republican Governor Scott Walker (Wisc.) dropping out of the 2016 presidential campaign with the latter only giving Walker a combined 57 seconds at the beginning and end of a report on Ben Carson’s comments about a hypothetical president who was Muslim.

It’s not every night a viewer can tune into the pilot of a new series and watch a new dad placing a frozen medical glove into his wife’s hooha. But that is exactly what happened in the premiere of “Life in Pieces.”
