On Sunday's This Week show on ABC, host Jonathan Karl and Bloomberg News's Margaret Talev displayed stunning historical naivete in characterizing the tax cuts for individuals in the tax law signed several days ago by President Trump as "temporary."

Over the weekend, several police officers were shot and injured in Pennsylvania in an apparent terrorist attack by a man from Egypt. CBS has so far managed to stand out by completely ignoring the story as ABC, NBC, CNN, FNC and MSNBC have all to some extent given attention to the subject.

The liberal bias on ABC’s daytime talk show The View is so over the top, it’s hard to single out just what qualifies as the worst examples of it that occurred this year.  

Following the Republican victory in passing sweeping tax cuts for all American taxpayers on Wednesday, they and President Trump held a gathering at the White House where they touted their win before the press. During the various victory speeches from Republican members of Congress, nearly all of them praised the President for his leadership.

After NBC’s Today co-host Savannah Guthrie accused House Speaker Paul Ryan of “living in a fantasy world” on Wednesday for predicting that tax reform legislation would encourage businesses to raise wages for their employees, on Thursday, the network morning show tried its best to deny the reality that several major companies announced that they would be doing exactly that.

During ABC’s World News Tonight on Wednesday, the network demonstrated just how well they could stick to the Democratic Party’s talking points. “The biggest tax cuts will go to the wealthy, corporate America,” boldly declared sensationalist anchor David Muir as he was coming on the air. For the first time in its 121-year history, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained more than 5,000 points in a single year, according to CNBC. The major stock index set that record Dec. 18, following a 140-point rally and a new record closing high. CNBC.com also noted that there had been 70 closing highs for the DJIA in 2017.

After being asked on Wednesday’s NBC Today if he was “living in a fantasy world” regarding new tax reform legislation, on ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning, House Speaker Paul Ryan called out the liberal media for spreading disinformation about the legislation and fact-checked their Democratic Party talking points.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning, all three networks buried a blockbuster report by Politico that exposed just how far the Obama administration went in order to secure a deal with Iran over nuclear weapons. ABC, CBS and NBC have yet to cover what Politico blasted in a headline: “The secret backstory of how Obama let Hezbollah off the hook.” 

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders asked on Twitter Dec. 17, “Which is the more underreported story of @Potus Year One? -Defeat of ISIS -Booming Trump economy.” Her complaint about the economy was certainly correct. In fact, the very next day all three network newscasts ignored the news that the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 5,000 points in a year for the first time in history. CBS…

Ahead of congressional votes on Republican tax legislation on Tuesday, the NBC and ABC morning shows both predicted political doom for the GOP with passage of the bill. The network broadcasts painted the plan as one that would benefit the wealthy and veer into “dangerous political territory.”
