On Wednesday, CNN released on Twitter the latest “Facts First” ad aimed at stoking their massive, Jeffrey Zucker-infused egos (disguised as flaunting their supposed journalistic bone fides) that was a clear shot across the bow for President Trump in their push to prove Russian collusion.

Proving that there’s nothing too small that the media won’t attack the current administration for, Washington Post gossip columnist Emily Heil bashed the Vice President for his Valentine’s Day gift choice, in an article in today’s Post.

CNN’s New Day spent the majority of their show Thursday morning discussing the tragic school shooting in south Florida that has left 17 dead and injured more than a dozen others. As usual, the co-anchors repeatedly crossed the line back and forth between activism and journalism; a practice that has become quite common in 21st century media.

Demonstrating a staggering lack of self-awareness, on Thursday, MSNBC Congressional Correspondent Garrett Haake promoted pro-abortion Democratic California Senator Kamala Harris declaring: “...we have to have smart gun safety laws. And we cannot tolerate a society and live in a country with any level of pride when our babies are being slaughtered.”

One would think that a rational and unified stance in the wake of tragedy would be the best start for healing and prevention, except the left seems to want none of it.

On Tuesday's Fresh Air on NPR, host Terry Gross and her guest, liberal author Joshua Green, discussed how Trump and Trump-affiliated Republicans somehow created an "epidemic" of sexual assault. Green wrote a book on Trump adviser Steve Bannon unsubtly titled Devil's Bargain. Gross briefly mentioned NPR has its own sexual harassment problem ("epidemic"?). 

All three networks on Thursday reacted similarly to Donald Trump’s speech about the mass shooting in Broward County, Florida, knocking it at as free of calls for gun control and specific policy. Yet, the President, did mention mental health reform, something that NBC’s Chuck Todd seemed to miss. 

Martin Rogers is probably a nice man, and he seems sincere when he writes in USA Today, “Tolerance and understanding of the LGBT community still has some way to travel, but isn’t there enough of it for there to at least be a conversation about new Olympic events allowing two men and two women to skate in tandem?”

In the wake of Wednesday’s horrific shooting at a Florida high school, on Thursday, NBC anchor Megyn Kelly took time out of the beginning of her 9:00 a.m. ET hour show to demand gun control, blast Second Amendment advocates, and label politicians who opposed such regulations as cowardly and “weak.”

It should not have taken a crystal ball to predict that the media would use the tragic school shooting in Florida as an opportunity to push for gun control. Not surprisingly, the anchors of CNN’s New Day spent a sizable portion of its Thursday morning broadcast acting as advocates for gun control.
