During the opening moments of MSNBC’s The Last Word on Wednesday, host and serial fibber Lawrence O’Donnell buckled under pressure from President Trump’s legal team and retracted his dubious report from the previous night. The report suggested the President’s loan from Deutsche Bank was co-signed by Russian oligarchs.

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell was overjoyed Tuesday night, as The Last Word came on the air, because according to an unnamed source that talked to no one but him, President Trump’s loan from Deutsche Bank was allegedly co-signed by Russian oligarchs. It was a scoop that had to be retracted less than 24 hours after it’s utterance on national TV because its validity could not be verified.

Whenever the liberal media run out of ways to attack someone, they turn to name calling, no matter whether it’s warranted or even true. Wednesday night’s The Last Word, with host Lawrence O’Donnell, was no exception. Unlike their late-night analysis after Tuesday’s debate, MSNBC had their acts together on Wednesday night, putting together in many of their initial takes a near-unanimous message that former Vice President Joe Biden was on the defensive and that it was an abomination how many of the Democratic presidential candidates condemned the Obama administration.

Late Tuesday night, MSNBC struggled to form a cohesive narrative following night one of the second set of 2020 Democratic presidential debates. While some admitted they were “shattered” and “shook up by tonight’s debate” and had some far-left proposals, others hailed Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA) as the big winner and even appeared “presidential” at times since “nobody took her down.”

Wednesday night after the much anticipated Mueller hearings, MSNBC hosts scrambled to make something new of the testimony. In spite of their bests efforts, nothing they didn’t already know had presented itself. Lawrence O’Donnell and Rachel Maddow decided that in order to really understand the situation, Mueller’s staff also need to testify. Yes, that’s right: More hearings.
