Karl Marx made an appearance on Sunday night’s edition of CBS’s Madam Secretary, titled ‘Right of the Boom.’ And not just in the sense that Madam Secretary believes in the aggressive use of government force and power with little to no regard for human history, or the life lessons that it offers.

What’s with shows actually portraying Christians in a positive light this week? After You, Me and the Apocalypse had a Catholic priest beautifully minister to a man in need, Last Man Standing had a nice message about Jesus’s love.

The wire service's coverage has been a textbook example of deliberate reality avoidance.

NBC's new show about the end of the world, You, Me and the Apocalypse, is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to morality. In reality, much of the questionable material wouldn't be Earth shattering (pun intended) were the show on at a later time. But let's give credit where it is due first.

Former PBS fixture Moyers recently touched on Ted Cruz’s Canadian birth, but not with an eye toward whether or not Cruz is eligible for the presidency. The third “Purge” movie will continue its tradition of using American imagery to bash America and its values. The trailer for the politically charged dystopian thriller was released on Monday and featured creepy, clownish murderers wearing American flag and colonial paraphernalia as “God Bless America” plays in the background.  

The progressives at Salon ask, “Why is religion so obsessed with sex?,” yet they themselves cannot seem to write enough articles on the idea that it is. Last week they blamed the “old men running the Vatican” for everyone’s “sexual hangups.” Now they’re going after Christianity in general with an excerpt from a book titled “The Illusion of God’s Presence.”

When The Washington Post took up publicizing a priest coming out of the closet as gay – in Chicago – it strangely put it on the front of the Metro section on Monday.
