A few days after New York Times media columnist Jim Rutenberg wrote a front-page piece about “[t]he challenge” of remaining objective when covering Donald Trump, he joined MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Friday morning to claim that despite Trump sucking up much of the media’s attention, the media have been able to aggressively cover Hillary Clinton and her many scandals. 

Despite serious legal and ethical questions being raised about the Clinton Foundation having high-level access to Hillary Clinton’s State Department while accepting large foreign donations, a CNN report on Thursday revealed that the Obama Justice Department squashed an FBI investigation into the matter. So far, the broadcast networks have censored any mention of the growing scandal.

Former New York City Mayor and Trump supporter Rudy Giuliani engaged in a tense back-and-forth with MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews on Wednesday night over Trump’s Second Amendment comments, but it was Giuliani absolutely schooling Matthews on the latest developments involving Hillary Clinton’s e-mail and Clinton Foundation scandals that stood out.

Throughout all of their news programs, both morning and evening, they gave the e-mails a total of 6 minutes 59 seconds. Speaking with Maria Bartiromo on the Fox News Channel (FNC) late Wednesday afternoon, Media Research Center President Brent Bozell blasted the media for their “incredible” double standard in spending far more time fussing over Donald Trump’s controversies while ignoring the latest Hillary Clinton gaffe with the father of the Orlando terrorist attending one of her rallies.
